  1. basically, none of the shit is from a Home Depot, which is where i returned it, so im good right?

SORRY FOR DISCUSSING THIS, YOU CAN CLOSE IT AFTER I GET AN ANSWER, FREE BORAT 20055555555555555555555555555555555555555555555

  2. Im sure some of yall have some experience with this. if you feel like its off topic or disclosing too much info tell me and ill change some shit.

Anyway, I've got a bunch of older Krylons and wack rusto cans. The valves always fuck up and break on them, and theyre terrible watery colors i hate. each can is basically new, never used, etc.

I returned some the other day to a Home Depot for store credit with no problems. I had no receipt which didnt matter, but they asked for ID and took down the number from my license. Some of the paint was bought, most of it years and years ago from Kmarts, small hardware stores and other sources. Ive got more that id like to get store credit for, but im worried about this ID bullshit. Seems like all major stores are gonna need it without receipts, which i dont have.

Anybody know what this is for and if its somethign to be concerned about?

  4. lots of dope, readable freights from back in the day and today and all over the country.

older heads coming back into the game.

mad personality and making graff look fun in this post.

peace to your family and everybody and their friends out there painting shit and taking pictures.

  5. HOVER BIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

theres been so many times i wish i had something like that but the more you think about it the more yorue like, this could be a real disasterous idea. low gear, 30X700 tires and a peice of shit frame is the best ive come up with so far.

  6. whats the deal with this motherfucker-is this an actual human being, or is this some dude in a mask, a botched plastic surgery victim, or an extra from the twilight zone? i cant believe someone could actually look like that without makeup or some kind of prosthesis. and is he actually a rapist?

  7. hey dosoner, good looks on the salsa frame but thats already too rich for my blood, and i wanted something more of a beater. i dont plan on racing a bunch, or maybe not at all. im looking for more of a comuter/singletrackish/winter work bike. i should prolly rock a cheapo hybrid or something.

word up to more people buying (and hopefully actually riding) bikes.

ha, that shit is the fucking truth.

i shouldnt hate cause at least these people are riding bikes, but i think id go nuts if every third kid in my photoshop class had the exact same overpriced, TIG shitty welded, bound to be stolen and/or crashed within 2 months bike as mine.

and whos got me for a cyclocross frame and fork? 60 cm and steel

  9. I dont know why. maybe its because hardcore and metal and other hard music is in a resurgence right now, or because of the "reunions" within the past couple years, or because im getting old and wanting to relive my youth, but i would pay just about anything and go anywhere to see Minor Threat play a show.

Having said that, i heard Gorilla Biscuits was semi fresh but still sort of wack, seeing Integrity last year was okay but not what it would have been in like 96, and i heard Youth of Today was depressing and they only did if for the money. so i guess i would want to see Minor Threat not so much now as in 81 or 82. but still, even being the cheapskate that i am, id fly just about anywhere and pay anything to see the original members play now.

  10. bump.

i hope everybody on here reads this and is given a view (although maybe somewhat one sided) of how ass backwards our current government is operating. i think kanye west kind of nailed it. i remember hearing news reports like a whole month ago about how people were concerned that becuase we had sent so many troops and national guardsmen over to iraq that in the case of an emergency on the homefront we would be fucked. this shit is terrible in so many ways.

  11. unless its a heavy peice of junk or you really are that lazy that you dont want to learn how to shift, dont bother. ESPECIALLY if its a nice old french, english or italian ten speed, dont bother.

if you really want to do it youll need a hub that is threaded (not casette) and some long, horizontal dropouts (the things that the wheels axle slide into). you could just leave the derailers on and never shift, but if you really wanna save that half a pound, go ahead and pull them off and throw on a bmx freewheel. but after you do this youre probably going to have a really crooked chainline which can cause problems. go to sheldonbrown.com for more info. and if any of those derailers say Suntour Superbe, Dura Ace or Campagnolo on them, holler at me. ill take them off for you.

  12. yeah, what the fuck is with Chicago? i was takin the train out west, and stopped over there for a couple hours. it was a weekday afternoon and the streets were fairly empty except for like a zillion messengers. for each block i walked i was passed by like 5. i saw a few people comuting and shit but there were just tons of messengers rolling around. and the streets were all like 5 lanes wide. is there a ton of work there cause the core is spread out, or cause of the weather and nobody wants to walk their deliveries, whats the deal?

its in really good condition and its all glorius steel.

I'll keep an eye out for something that better fits your needs. I come across a lot of stuff.

bike #19 was delivered last night. I really need to find a bigger house.

i still might be interested, hit me up on PM.

and i hear you on the bigger house. i got rid of bikes 12 through 38 at the end of this spring. and i still have a tandem.

define cheap...I've got an 80's Bianchi frame...somewhere in the 60-62 cm range. if interested...holler.

im used to dumpstering a good portion of my shit so 20 bucks is my idea of cheap, but depending on what its made of and its condition id pay 50 or 75? or i dunno, you make an offer. and 62 is prolly gonna be too big. thanks...

  15. I NEED SOME SHIT:

im looking for a cyclocross frame (preferably) or decent hybrid frame and fork. no headset BB or anything, just frame and fork. 60cm preferably but i could rock a 58 or something close. preferably all steel, preferably cheap.

ALSO: a nice old pair of 5 or 6? speed thread on hubs or wheels. preferably campy high flange, but ill consider low flange, suntour, mailard, or anything else. my bike is sooooo close but i need a decent set of wheels or hubs to build on.

ill pay or trade, ive got tons of decent road, mntn, and even some BMX shit.

also, to the dude rockin paint in his seat bag, bottle cages hold normal size cans perfectly.most people dont even notice although it is louder.

  16. yo SF1, i always thought the Parker shit was fly for a couple reasons.

    1. the one you posted is all the fuck the way up there under 95 and i think that dude hung over or some shit, and thats dope even given how ugly that thing is.

    2. hes got another peice similar to that on an i beam on the other side of FDR

    3. hes got a tag half way up the pole for the billboard near the tracks that looks like its been there way before anybody thought to climb it and get the back of it.

man i wish i was on my computer, philadelphia and its surrounding suburbs have some choice wacky/disgustingly ugly grafitti.

  17. sup yall. im looking to do some long distance touring, hopefully coast to coast, unsupported (ill be camping, bringing everything with me and staying in few to no hotels but possibly some friends places)

i was wondering if any of yall knew of some good cross country routes, tips on touring, camping, places to stay, etc. ill be leaving within the next month and going from pennsylvania to southern california. any help would be appreciated.

  18. Im not sure if this has been covered yet, but i keep seeing people asking about fixies and figure its worth repeating.

i volunteer at a place that lets you come in and fix your bike for free, sells used bikes and parts, etc. in the last 3 months ive seen about 6 of these "fixed gear" bicycles that people keep buying off the internet, all from one or 2 people based in california (i think).....

    DO NOT BUY THEM!!!!!!!!!

i actually bought a similar one myself about a year and a half ago at a swap not realizing what it was. these bikes are road frames built on road cranks and road freewheel hubs. theres a couple things that are shady about them.

-most of the bikes i saw were respaced not by re-dishing the wheel, but by flipping over the BB spindle so as to achieve a more straight chainline. the chainline still remained pretty horrible.

-in my case, the frame was bent right behind the head tube on the down and top tubes. although it was steel, this is sketchy and probably shouldnt have been sold to me.

-i also realized a while later that the drive side arm had a small crack right where the arm meets the spider. this could have proved pretty dangerous.

-the worst and most dangerous aspect of these bikes is that the hub is fixed by slapping on a track cog and then tightening down a lock ring from a bottom bracket adjustable cup. in some cases the guy had used lock tite, in others it was just tightened against the cog. in either case, the ring will eventually slip because it is not as strong as an actual lockring, and is not reverse threaded like a true track hub so rather than tightening with reverse force (from stopping or skidding), it will either just unthread and fall off, or more likely strip apart and ruin the threads on the hub.

-all the bikes were pretty shoddily assembled as well. some of them had totally loose bottom brackets, untensioned or unbalanced wheels, small deformities in the frame (which could be fatal or just aesthetic), and lacked grease in key areas.

basically i would warn against buying a bike you cannot look at in person, but ESPECIALLY not one of these things. unless youre just buying it cause its an ok frame and its dirt cheap and you arent going to pedal around on that deathtrap "fixed" hub.

  19. ...oh, and for anybody who's interested im selling my club bike. im looking for 1200/OBO.

  20. wachovia was fun, wish i woulda got down to the manayunk wall to watch them dudes climb. i tried to get up it once on my fixed and i gave up a quarter of the way up. almost got sick eating all those fucking clif bar/chocolate bar/sports drink shits all day, and then really almost got sick after blowing myself out on that time trial thing. for somebody who rides everyday i wish i woulda done better. anybody know what the prize was for each division?

also, another question for anybody from a shop: why would they only give me a store credit for returning a tire? is it the pain of restocking it, cause it was 27", or what? it was never ridden, and only a week later...
