I had several thoughts about these two trials. What do trials like these mean for human rights? There is no force behind the court if you are in a powerful political position, such as countries that have veto power in the UN which have committed human rights violations. What does this mean for countries that are still seeking some sort of international recognition for human rights violations? I say this thinking of East Timor, which still has not had international tribunals against Indonesian officials. Also, super interesting to me is this guy had been living on the DL for years as an alternative medicine practitioner/psychologist. He was publishing books of poetry, even while he was in hiding for 12 years. WTF? I had heard that there was some sort of deal that if Radovan Karadzic dropped off of the grid the US would not pursue his capture. Anyone else heard of this? Care to elaborate if you have. Wouldn't surprise me Madeleine Albright was/is a cunt. Do people even care at this point? Especially in America. TLDR Do people even care at this point? Especially in America. Are we becoming that.............apathetic and immune to gross human rights violations to care? PRECISELY. Especially us Americans. Human rights violation caring starts at home. And we, in America, hate homeless/indigent people. But it's because of our economic slavery which forces us to behave like such animals... trampling each other for every last morsel. MY SOLUTION TO RULING THE WORLD: Give everybody welfare, make working optional. Freedom to work as what you desire, to gain other "desirable" material possessions. But everybody starts out with a "standard of living" package, to take care of their basic essential needs (food, water, shelter, toilet paper, transportation, education, etc). This promotes competition while eliminating "crimes of necessity" (stealing bread to feed your starving family, ie.), furthering human existence through technology and coexistence. It's the next likely compromise in how the world governs itself. This would reduce crime, but the human nature of "being #1" would still prevail, and for those people we'll still have shiny rims and bling bling. my understanding of communism and socialism, the negative aspect of both, is that all your decisions are dictated by the government and the system. we can eliminate this by allowing freedom, but with a safety net for the unestablished masses yearning for that American Dream. won't work you say? who's going to clean the toilets? fucking robots man. robots. get it together. Are we becoming that.............apathetic and immune to gross human rights violations to care? between the artificial chemicals that are put in our food, fluoridated water, and scores of people using drugs for recreation, yes...people don't care and are apathetic ..can you blame the average person though? and that's only the neurochemistry side of it then you got the physiological side.... you got the average person worrying about their job, paying bills/mortgage and looking after their family.. etc.. you get the idea.
