Someone in Somerville has figured out how to get graffiti on exit signs over Route 93 South that are at least two stories high. The Mass Highway Department reportedly received calls about the vandalism on Sunday and sent out a crew to clean up the signs on Tuesday at the Sullivan Square exit. "We went out after rush hour and had to close a lane," said Mass Highway spokesman Erik Abell. "It took about a full day to clean and restore the signs and we had a handful of guys out there all day." Vandals reportedly cut through the chain link fence on Austin Street and Maine Terrace to get out to the secluded area. Mass Highway has reportedly repaired the fence too. While the feat seems near impossible, the state is not amused as cranes and much manpower and their citrus, organic, environmentally friendly cleaning materials had to be used to clean it up.
