nelACKson Posted January 26, 2004 Share Posted January 26, 2004 this is completely off the wall and probably will not answer any questions but... one time i found a metal plate that was designed to be folded around a section of track, it had information printed on it with areas to fill in more information. i dont remember exactly what it said but it had to do with recording the temperature of the rail at the time when they were to be replaced. if they are doing work (extra rail off to the side) maybe the rail has to be a certain temperature due to metal expansion and whatnot.
