The Dykem Bleed Thru is a good marker but it doesnt bleed through as well as it shows from what Ive seen, and its not that big. Everyone knows how good Dalos are so Im not going to say anything about them, and today I just picked up a 2oz of the red layout fluid and an 8oz blood of opaque red metal stain.
The first thing I noticed is the 2oz is the same body/nib as DED mops, and if you pop out the valve it drips like crazy. I got some on my knife and dry paint thinner (the only thing I had to try to clean it) and scratching wont remove it at all. The metal stain is the same way, but Im guessing paint thinner wouldnt be used for buffing either way so Im going to test it out on some stuff that constantly gets buffed (the stuff they use takes krink and purple garvey off plastic and metal like its nothing, not even a ghost is left) and see how the industrial stuff lasts.

sweet man, ive been waiting for someone to post about the layout fluid, im in machine shop in school and thats what we used to use, except they are bigger bottles that have the brush in the cap, we have red and blue i think im gonna have to cop a few..
also what is the metal stain used for? what would you use it for that you wouldn't use the layout fluid for

has anyone ever added Dykem ink to there ink? in school we use the layout fluid but i dont know how permanent it is, i use it alot and it sticks to metal well but you can still scratch it out, maybe it could be used in ink, we have red and blue here. heres the site, they have markers also http://www.dykem.com/ProductFamily.cfm?familyID=449bcc1f-f8c3-44a8-9d5b-e4c19920c109&searchType=product

asdf could you post whats in your paint mixture in the one on the right? like the percent of each ingredient

i tried the xylene that was in the bug and tar remover and it didn't thin the paint out. oh and on the front page it says xylene will eat through plastic but the container this was in was plastic

im going to try it and see how it comes out, i heard it eats through plastic so im going to use it in a hollowed out magnum, ill post pics after too

Im trying out different paint thinner type products and i read that xylene is a type of paint thinner. I have some of this Bug & Tar remover and on the back it says contains xylene, i smelled the stuff and it smells exactly like paint thinner. my question is will it still work the same as it?

on a related note, anyone sending money orders should make them payable to either 'Also Known As' or 'Four The Hard Way' since that's how our bank account works.anyhow, i really appreciate all the support. it's great to see that this place has become such an imoportant place to so many people...
