i aint tryna talk shit of start any business but it seems like as of late the two ethers both of whom are monsters have been converging as far as style. especially throwies. i really dont give a flying fuck though. power to both.

SOUPER sorry if i came off sounding like a dick. appreciate the trek. a bike is what you make it. that sounds really cheesy. anyway my point was that treks are good bikes but carry this stigma of "everyone has one/could get one" which of course is uncool and un-bike-snob. keep on truckin.
-
trek sucks because any yuppie with a hole in his ass can walk into a shop and have some pipply faced kid sell him one for no other reason than lance road one and lance wins bike races and dates sheryl crow. otherwise, i cant vouch fersure being i have never ridden one, they are good quality american bikes. different story-- a buncha kids up in madison that i knew through a friend who went to UW usta take regular trips out to the trek factory and sort through the dumpster for anything that didnt get hacked up.

shai said: I had a PX-10 that was beautiful, but it was a mechanical nightmare. any ideas as to what model that one (see above) is? i know it is an '82 from the SN,
-
thanks fellas.

also, anybody have a quick fix for a seized seat post? whomever had this bike prior put the post down past the flutes and now it wont budge and it is too low. i have tried liquid wrench and comparable spray lubes. holler.
-
would putting an orange deep V on the back be over the top? too much orange? otherwise i was thinking either grey or raw so it wouldnt be tied only to this bike. whatcha think?
-
shai get some flicks, ferreal.
-
the black sabbath. does anyone else name their bikes? every little scratch in the paint is popping with rust but the wheels and anything else that was chromed can be cleaned up. schwinn quality chicago.

a friend of mine has/had a late eighties raleigh technium road bike. i dunno if she still has it being that she apparently valued it as nothing more than transportation which is a terrible pity. when her parents gave it to her as a going away present of sorts it was in very nice condition, nothing beyond the wear of riding it. she however quickly cursed it with bum bars and numerous scratches from careless lock ups and nights spent in the saltiness of chicago winters chained to a street sign. i suppose it really wasnt anything terribly special, though it was in nice shape. i guess it was her lack of care for it that irked me more than anything. long live epoxy.
-
when did raleigh jump the pond and go from being raleigh britain to raleigh of america?
-
i will get a flick of the racer shortly. in the meantime here is a flick of my all original 1972 varsity. original down to the innertubes. later.
-
i just rescued an early sixties (serial # stamped on the dropout) schwinn racer, single speed with a coaster brake, from the local second hand shop dumpster. chicago schwinns are apparently an acquired taste and my taste is insatiable.
-
i assume you mean pics of the kicks and not the GF. whatevers clever.

if all you want to do is fix the flat find out what size tube you need and then fix it at home. bring the tire to the shop, they will know what tube you need. for a tutorial on changing a flat use google. otherwise if you really need to replace the tires you can get a decent set for ~$35. check out biketiresdirect.com

big ten heads might appreciate these. holler. edit: the joke isnt very clear. these have been seen up around the university of illinois.
