  1. Fly Hortons- yeah, well lets drop the whole sabe thing, Sabe Ny is the shit, he has all kinds of expereince on me, SO I change the name. thx for the comment, I think going simple is the way to go now. Tough Love-- Wack - no structure?, you talking about those first two? yeah well, I know that. But you really think this last one Rebuf has no structure?
  2. I decided to change what I write finally, New name is Rebuf-- I've been doing trains lately but I also got a sketch scanned. Here it is. Working backwards simple first, complex later......
  3. little, I was engaged and lived with a russian woman. хорошо
  4. I noticed russian letters, do you speak russian?
  5. You art is sick, distugsting and humorous. I like it.
  6. McPhoo-- Thanks. It means a lot to me. I agree, I'm tired of seeing the same Batman, superman style out there. Thx again!
  7. Hey, first off, thx for taking the time to respond. I must reply to the character style part. In each comic or situation calls for a certain approach. It will become apparent in the next two pages that these characters are robots. Along the lines of Ghost in the Shell. So they are "cluncky" or sharp to show this in a subtle way which will become obvious soon. I wanted to almost hide the fact that they are not human so people would grasp onto the larger part of the story before the details. As for pacing, I agree on many pages, I jump too much from one moment ot the next. That's the main thing I want to keep pushing and expereimenting with. You're right though, that's probably my weakest point. But to be honest I thought ronin was some of Millers weakest books artwise. The layouts were pretty static to me. And he didn't seem to make the experiment in styles mend together very well. Again, thx, You observations and everyones help me push myself to better anything I'm working on,
  8. Yeah James Jean Rocks!
  9. I guess I can't go an edit so I have to reply this. I re-scanned and re-photoshopped all the pages. This is how it will show up on print. This also is the last time I'll subject this thread to more re-posts of minor changes. Major to me but, that's me.
  10. LOL That falling chick was awesome!
  11. Yeah, one amazing thing about Mack is that he is so young yet so successful! Only 25 I believe or 26. His art and story telling is what launched my interest in comics which I thought at the time was nothing more then superhero good vs evil stuff.

    BATS!!

Your crazy! There isn't anywhere else I could think of where this should go.........
  13. That chick was my fiance. I gotta agree she is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. Sexy Russians Dammit! But yeah, After two years of living together she cheated while I was on vacation and took most everything we shared. (Sorry, have to vent or explode) But fuck her, I have a new girlfriend who treats me a shit ton better. Thx for the comments
  14. dear sasZ: Man I wish I did have a complete story. But it's not done yet. I have another comic along the lines of this style that is all my story and everything. But I'm only four pro pages into it. When I finish some photoshop work I'll post it. As for the email, I'm re-doing all these pages, re-scanning and type in Photoshop because I noticed some are fuzzy, I can't stand it so I'm using what I've learned about scanning and PS to change it. So i will send you those through the e-mail. Oh BTW: Thanks for the comments. Soon I will be not a starving student/artist freelancer and simply a working starving artist. ;)
  15. I dig that last image posted!
  16. s.urkaleeno: I can't say I agree that it's a lifeless approach. I know -Latrec work and I like it. Not all my work has the same lines, sometimes I move it real fast from thick to thin, sometimes the same width. But I thank you for you're feedback. anonymity1: Thanks glad you like 'em. There was only one drawing with a photo reference, it was Smith. Everything else is from my head or a live model. I do have many larger figure drawings which I really like too but I only have a scanner right now, and now digi camera so i can't get 'em online........yet. :( termite: You had said.... """"gotta spent mo' time observing the subject than the sketch itself ya digzzzzz?"""" I agree, sometimes I just get drawn in (no pun intended) I need to look more.... About the dragons, they were just an assingment, dunno why I posted them because this is a figure drawing thread but whatever.... Thx for the hand drawing comment.
  17. Yeah man, Mack is the shit! The recent Kabuki Alchemy is amazing! Speaking of comic/fantasy artists.....How about Jeffery Jones!
  18. I hear ya, wiseguy I think having the right model does a session good. This model was my ex and she is oh so hot! So even though it was crazy to talk to her at class after the break-up, drawing her was always amazing. Or maybe you need a good teacher to spark that interest, whatever works for you I guess.
  19. I like the idea of that sketch black book being shared between a few artist, I gotta try that some day. I came across a book yesterday, titled Destiny painting by Kent Williams. If you have never heard of him, check out the work. Briliant! more here: http://www.spearedpeanut.com/kentwilliams/...ings/index.html Also Williams learned from Pratt University .......So I checked out some George Pratt art too... It's cool how you can see influences through mentors and students and how that continues through every artist everywhere.
  20. test pattern: Cool man, lets see some mind to hand work and then some scanning :p s.urkaleeno: I guess I have to ask, what is a geniric line? One that's less expensive? :D Or one of less quality then a name brand line? westy: I take it you meant what's the "best" not the "bitch" watercolours to work with.......I like winser newton. They are pro and not so expensive, good middle ground I think.
  21. I went and normalized the blacks on all previous pages and I completely re-did page 6. Thought I'd post the updates:
  22. rental: I guess I don't it must be a inside joke then......But I get it on a "all mexicans are too lazy to give a full crit" I'm Kidding of coarse......... test pattern: I learned from MATC tech college, been there for 4 years and counting....... my main teacher was amazing and opened everything to me, I expanded to comic art and illustration because of his inspiration...... Here is a site...... http://schultzdrawings.com/ There are many other teachers that I've sat under for many years,...
  23. hahahaha...those damn puerto ricans... Quoted post [/b] ............ :haha:
  24. I went ahead and re-did page (6) six, it has been pissing me off for awhile. Looks much better to me.... what do you all think, improvment?
  25. Some dragon painting assingment on variations:
