saw a gier freight today (half a car) didn't have my camera so i couldnt get a picture but wanted to give him props anyway.
  2. Hey shai id love to see a recipe, pm me if you can.
  3. there are liquid oil based paints they are just harder to find. ropaque i believe is for oil based paints. did you look at the ink recipies in the link kinda curious about them.

ill get on it nah by silver spring on the beltway towards college park not in college park.
  5. Oh ok. I forgot to mention that you can get liquid paints and also there are chemicals called opacifiers such as ropaque. I dont know how to use them but I'm sure you can find out with some research.
  6. If you look at the woodcraft paint its really thin almost ink cosistancy what I do is go very slowly add a little thinner then repeat until you get the desired flow. Just note different paints are more opaque than others whites tend to be more opaque than say red but if you mix a bit of white into a more translucent color it will go a bit further but you will lose some of the saturation, its a trade off. I use: Acrylic flow release for acrylic paints. In general if i want to know how to do something like thinning paint I will go to a paint store not home depot and make up some bogus story about wanting to make a custom paint pen for touch up jobs for my mother. Add the mom part it makes them suspect less. No O.G. would talk about being wipped by his mother. You can replace mother with wife/girlfriend.
  7. ah but the woodcraft markers are made for paint.
  8. I've put paint into a zig paint marker. I sort of regret it. The nib does dry out but if you use the paint frequently the the marker should be ok. I found I had better luck with mixing half of the paint from the marker with half of my paint. This may be different with different kinds of paint i was using akrilic (sp?) paint to get nice colors even though they are easy to get rid of (the buff doesnt bother me, it just adds to the game, and yes i do think graffiti is a game.) So in conclusion, experiment. The worst thing that could happen is you learn something and are short a new zig. Be smart don't experiment with otr's or montanas they are too expensive. Side note:My quest for the krink has been slowed, partly because im not sure that i was on the right track have to go back and think about it and try some recipies. Edit: No its not krinks patent but here is some recipies for metallic inks there is a way to make them more permanant and it says it indirectly in the patent. Metal ink link

Its DC's only chance. Once the dissed shit and the lame bombs are removed then this city can turn around. <!--QuoteBegin-the balance i figured that but were tryin to stay positive,,,,, freeways that used to run a month or so,,,now runs for 2 days!!!!!,,,,prove the buff wrong,,,, nows the time Actually there is a freeway piece by gier, delete, and someone else under the underpass before the silver spring exit on the beltway going towards college park that has been running for about a month. I want to flick it but i dont know how. Though i may be contradicting myself DC still has some kick in it.
  10. Ok the deal with the ink is it is a metalic dust that is being suspended in a form of gel, sort of like a gel pen. I dont know what the opacity would look like if you tryed to thin it but it would most likely be ok. The ink itself is rather thin so it wouldnt take much to make it run. Add water. Treat it like you would treat any other drawing ink thats the way it was designed to be used. The ink does carry a high pricetag if thats a issue, its approximatly 7.50 per one of those vials above, which i think is two onces. I was going to make a chapstick mop with it until i found out that its usless for my work. Still on my quest to crack the secret of krink...which btw I'm close. The I too can be an alpha nerd!
  11. Yeh it should work alright for fine art/ indoors work.... ........alpha nerd :haha:
  12. bad news about the ink, its water soluable therefore the first time it rains its gone.

rivers has one of the nicest hands in dc right now, imho.
  21. sucessfully made my mop and rocked it over town. My recipe just in case someone cares: Griffin scuff cover (black), medium sharpie poster paint marker, copper colored aluminum dust . and small pieces of metal for mixing i dumped it into a o'glue pen and ran around town. sparkle coverage is pretty good it makes you do a double take. next time ill use a lighter metal, like silver or light gold.
  22. So I got some griffin scuff cover and made a mop if i add the aluminum dust will it weather ok? I mean after it rains will it still sparkle? Also will all the dust go with the drips or will most remain where it was applied? Also im pretty dissapointed with the opacity. did I get the right kind of griffin (scuff cover)?
  23. Alrighty I recently found aluninum powders for gold leafing. One of them is one of those that changes colors from different angles. I plan on buying it for making a drippy mop. I was wondering what ratio and what ink would you mix it with?

I have a job but i have to pay for other things like, insurance and college, it doesnt leave much money for extras, and I gotta save what I can. Developing and getting my pictures put onto a cd costs me 9 dollars (if i wanted hard copies too it costs 16ish). Here and there 9 bucks is ok but I cant afford to do it all the time.
