  2. yeah - it took me a total of about 1 hr from touchdown in pdx to walk through the doors of the deschutes brewpub.

    i was not disappoint.

as fist says - it was ultra cozy nh and i can see myself basically camping out in there during a winter day.

plus that shit is CHEAP. maybe it's because i live in the bay, but i found portland to be so inexpensive.

i would def be 20lbs heavier if i lived up there.

  3. breweries!

rogue was awesome - super cool people there and that food was a fatkid dream come true.

i was highly impressed with deschutes' fresh hop stuff. mainly the fresh hop oktoberfest brew they had on.

but i think that's an in-house only type thing.

  4. short list…

westoek X - is. my. shit.

the collab from St. Feuillien and Green Flash called l'amitie - awesome, could be a bit on the sweet side

another collab from Allagash and De Proef called Les Deux Brasseurs - dry, super effervescence goin on

Pretty Things Jack D'or - dry with a bit of hop, maybe too much for a hop-hater

    everyone loves Dupont Saison

the St Feuillien Saison is on point

there's a few - smell them, drink them, eat cheese and shit - be a boss.

    just back from PDX

holy hell that place kicks beer ass.

    will report later.

  5. i don't technically have a 'touring' specific bike. right now i'm just using my old trek for light stuff (1 or 2 nights). if it's loaded up it flexes like mad when i'm climbing.

but, it works for what i need at the moment.

    damn rubbish!

that's such a bummer, but it sounds like you're on pace to crush this season.

  6. it's kings mountain road in woodside.

beautiful roads -- shitty people driving cars. +1/-1

in terms of bonking: i find that the meals i eat the day before, along with that day's breakfast, have a lot to do with my performance and ability to push through.

that said - i'm all about eggs, potatoes, avocados, broccoli, sprouted bread/bagels and then lot's of slow release sugars for the morning of - like apples and bananas and whatnot.

seems to work for my riding/racing schedule.

    SO cooked from this weekend.

lot's of mixed terrain and lot's of road miles - all with LOTS of climbing.

    /tired.

rubbish - i'll be in town next week, still debating on taking some time off the bike.

it's been a while since i've done that.

not too sure -- i'll def be in touch.
