i feel the same way (all having similar taste) about lagunitas' stuff.
everyone is all 'whoop-dee-doo' over them… don't get it.
i mean, it's generally good stuff - i've even been there and got to taste most everything. but, it all seems to carry the same profile.

i have a friend who walked from alameda to diablo on mainly trails, he only skipped some because of all the up & down involved.
ran out of daylight and had to skip the summit.
i've done some gg park cross riding but was following and i'm not too sure on where we entered/exited.

dude on the bike up there looks like fausto coppi, but i forget/can't find the evidence that it is actually him.

shoes: mtn shoes typically have large soles and recessed cleats which would make it difficult to mate up with most road pedals. however, i'll bet there are combinations out there that work just fine.
