  1. the thing is buckfifty, no one knows what is going to go down. its sort of like the old saying... about someone wanting to believe in God and find out there is is not God, than to not believe in God then find out there is... same with preparations. its better to be prepared and not need to use any of it, than to not be prepared and need survival stockpiles. besides, you can always eat the food, and shoot the ammo. its life as normal, just you dont need to go to the grocery store as often.
  2. what are you trying to do with it? bug out bag or what? i have a small molle bag, but i havent even used it yet. military style bags are not as comfortable as civilian style, but they last alot longer and have subdued colors. the molle system might be the perfect thing for you, if you want to have a place for everything. you can hang a bunch of different bags from it.
  3. i feel a need to revive this thread... it may not get any play, but screw it. worst case, i'll read the whole thing again later tonight. whatever happened to Kabar2?
  4. fear of being caught? hmmmmm isnt the consequence of being caught (why you get scared) put forth by law? i dont believe in anarchy.
  5. i agree with you on the drug use. on a federal level. there is no constitutional grounds to ban or allow drug use nationwide. its a state issue. but i believe laws are deterrents. we dont live in a democracy. there is a big difference between a democracy and a republic. our country was created to protect against the dangers of mass democracy. check it... "[D]emocracy will soon degenerate into an anarchy, such an anarchy that every man will do what is right in his own eyes and no man's life or property or reputation or liberty will be secure, and every one of these will soon mould itself into a system of subordination of all the moral virtues and intellectual abilities, all the powers of wealth, beauty, wit and science, to the wanton pleasures, the capricious will, and the execrable cruelty of one or a very few." Reference: Original Intent, Barton (338); original The Papers of John Adams, Taylor, ed., vol. 1 (83) "Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide." Reference: Original Intent, Barton (335); original The Works of John Adams, C.F. Adams, ed., vol. 6 (484) "The known propensity of a democracy is to licentiousness which the ambitious call, and ignorant believe to be liberty." Reference: The Works of Fisher Ames, W.B. Allen, ed., vol. 1 (546) "[D]emocracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security, or the rights of property; and have, in general, been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths." Reference: Madison, Federalist No. 10 (81) "A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine. " Thomas Jefferson "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote! " --Benjamin Franklin
  6. i did respond to it. i'll repost it. QUOTE (yum - Mar 5 2006, 03:58 AM) my god thats so funny that you just posted a bunch of pictures of black people holding the confederate flag. wow. seriously what are those photos meant to prove? if you read what i was responding too... "southern man... listen what your good book says..." is from a neil young song talking about "those evil racist southerners." so i was responding with the WHOLE story.
  7. Quoted post [/b] never heard of a conservative democrat before?
  8. if you read what i was responding too... "southern man... listen what your good book says..." is from a neil young song talking about "those evil racist southerners." so i was responding with the WHOLE story.
  9. definately getting off topic... but another thing to note is..... some neo conservatives get offended by the term. they believe it is synomous with "jew" when used by "traitor" conservatives. of course this stems from the old right america firster paleo cons or true conservatives who are against all foreign alliances, no exceptions even for israel.
  10. allow me to break it down in simple easy to understand terms. a neo conservative is not a conservative. they are ex communists and 60s liberals who rode the reagan revolution into power. many neo cons do expouse social conservatism, (mainly to win the votes of the nations middle class conservative core) however many do not. one of the key differences between conservatives and neo conservatives is foreign policy. conservatives favor america first and an non interventionist foreign policy. neo cons believe in global democracy and a crusade to secure it. this is liberalism as embodied by Woodrow Wilson. why i call neo cons, liberals is simple. they believe in the federal state. conservatives do not. this is the basic core of each ideology. liberalism is belief in a strong central government and wanting citizens to rely on it. conservatives believe in small, decentralized government, and local control and individualism. decentralization, the principles espoused in the VA and KY resolutions penned by James Madison and Thomas Jefferson are held with as much esteem as the constitution and declaration. conservatives also believe in strict construction of the federal constitution. neo cons do not. they pretend they do, but they do not. it is against thier agenda of big government, deficits, and imperial foreign wars. neoconservatism is not conservatism. it is a form of liberalism.
  11. obviously, im referring to the guy who wrote the article. im saying this because that is what the author of the article is. if someone on the right wrote something like that baiting the left, he would damn near be indicted for violation of federal hate crime laws. i wonder if the author knows what a "neo con" is? and if he really hates them. after all a neo con is a liberal.
  12. wow... what an uninformed, hateful, bigoted ass fuck.
  13. "what? So If someone rapes and kills your daughter what do you do with him?" DING DING DING!!!!!! EXACTLY!
  14. those damn southern racists......
  15. eh, not a good analogy. i cant think of many british who fought for the nazi's. let me rephrase "an assload of indians, mainly cherokee and others of the 5 civilized tribes fought for the confederacy. and the war, as we all know was all about slavery and the northern good ol boys swooped down to save the day!" and those damn racist rednecks )with those jews in the CSA government) and those damn 100,000's of blacks who fought for and aided the confederacy. its so black and white! sorry. but back to abortion.....
  16. I don't think using property rights is a good analogy esp since land is this country was stolen from Indian nations... and I wouldn't compare cells inside a body to an imaginary line around a piece of soil Quoted post [/b] its kind of funny when you think about it. the indians fought for the confederacy during the war between the states. what a twisted web isnt it?
  17. i disagree. every one is endowed with "certain inalienable" rights, among them life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. governments are not to violate these rights, and were created to protect them. just as important for the government to establish what rights we have, is the right to establish which of us has those rights. enter the sovereign state governments, under the system known as federalism. abortion is a very very dangerous form of tyranny. the government simply decides a certain class of people are not people, therefore not entitled to rights. the right to kill someone (abortion) is protected the same damn way slave owners property (slaves) was protected in antebellum america. if a class or race of people was enslaved or mass murdered, it would be an outrage. nazi germany sent millions of people to thier deaths. in america, the government is allowing the people to practice a program of mass murder. the argument boils down to private property. the pro abortion side goes like..."the baby is mine, in my body, my property, i can kill it if i want." with this logic, anyone who steps on foot of your property can be killed, even if they are delivering the mail.
  18. if you dont understand the principle, i could easily say the same thing about you. why is it bad to kill someone, but you talk of taking out iraqi's?
  19. this is where the problem is. the national government has no authority to even be talking about this issue. its not about the issue at hand, but jurisdiction. with a liberal supreme court in place, (read statist supreme court) they can interpret the constitution as they want. thing is they just cant for some reason nail down exactly where the "privacy" right is in the constitution. its somewhere between the 14th (purpose :grant citizenship to free blacks) the 9th (rights reserved to the people) and the 4th (only explicit privacy right protected by the feds... search without warrant) i find no where, in the document where it says "a woman shall have the right to abort her baby." since there is no expression of an abortion right in the constitution, it is not a federal issue. enter the 10th amendment. puts the issue in the states. the courts overstepped its bounds. if abortion was to be protected by the federal government as a natural right, use the proper process and pass an amendment. i'll see you at the process. however, it is much easier, with a liberal big government supreme court to simply create a "right" in the constitution and set a ruling, because there is no way an amendment allowing abortion would have passed. this simple act by unaccountable unelected life tenured judges is astonishing. it could just as easy decide that "hey bush;s wire taps are totally constitutional (when they arent)" or some sort of extreme tyrannical legislation is constitutional. which is why im opposed to big government and judicial supremacy. i believe in decentralized power, limited government and local control.
  20. there is no hypocrisy in being pro death penalty and anti abortion. simple morals say that killing innocent lives is wrong. if you believe life begins at conception, then you are taking an innocent life by having an abortion. a murderer for instance, getting the death penalty, squares with morals, even with God's moral law. as the proper transcription of the thou shalt not kill commandment is thou shall not murder. however there is hypocrisy in being pro offensive war and bring pro life.
  21. i support the bill south dakota is pushing for. if the bill passes, it does not over turn roe. Roe V Wade usurped the individual states power to decide the issue, where it had been since the start of this nation. roe centralized the government one step further. consolidation of the government is a thing to be extremely cautious of as Jefferson noted. local and decentralized laws are the key to liberty. now, the purpose of the state legislatures pushing the law is to simply try to reassert state sovereignty and the 10th amendment. they are hoping to get the law passed, which would then be put into the federal courts, hopefully to the supreme court, to challenge the roe decision. if roe is over turned, fear not pro abortion people... all the blue states, where most people have abortions anyway will still have them, as they will vote to have abortion legal. ah the beauty of federalism.
  22. i only use a shotgun for rabbit hunting. nothing like running rabbits with a couple beagles and shooting on the run. I use my 1927 SXS double barrel LC smith, 12 guage, modified chokes. this is not my home defense choice though. for hunting, you can definately kill alot more with a shotgun, with less skill. I also advocate gold. not necessarily for a survival situation, but i think these counterfeit paper fiat greenbacks and all this inflation has got to go. give me sound money. as far as currency, it is the only currency which holds it value the best. and its accepted world wide. nothing like a case of gold coogarans.
  23. "Some like to stockpile spray paint, some like to stockpile rounds of 7.62x51 NATO " i like to stock pile both. "I think some folks are just scared since the saw the worst happen in NOLA and realized That Could Be Me. And, GREAT! Why aren't most people prepared? Because you believe everything the TV and government tells you. When there's an impending disaster, and the government tells you to cover your ass, you have 24 hours to get out of town...and then, you find yourself on the ass end of a 300 mile long traffic jam...that's not preparedness, that's PANIC. The government isn't going to help you, YOU are responsible for your own ass in that situation. Or, you can keep on watching MTV and saying, "God, Bush sucks...he's such a doofus..." This information is here to help those who can think creatively, and judging from some of the responses, you'd never think there were natural disasters according to these folks...if you picked their brains, maybe nothing bad ever hapens, and life is grand for them. " exfuckingactly!
  24. word, i think each has their place. the ar's are good for close up. the m14 style is coming back from what i hear over in "hot sandy places." accuracy is another thing. you can sometimes get .25 moa out of a stock bushmaster. no one will guarantee a m1a hardly under 1 moa. and your paying upwards of 3000$ to get one guaranteed 1/2moa. i think the springfield socom 16 is sort of a happy medium. its a real round compared to the 5.56, is just as maneuverable as an ar, and its not some flat ass round like a 762x39. eh just my 2 cents.
  25. i would personally take an m1 over an sks anyday. i hate those stripper clips. however price is a factor. if we talking wood sticks, i personally like the m1a/m14 style guns over the old top feeding actions. im not that big of a guy, and cannot fire a .308 chambered gun more than 50 or so rounds and stand much more. the 762x39 round is much lighter compared to the 762x51 (308) round. i would like to see what everyones consensus on the following are: 5.56mm vs 7.62.mm nato rounds- 5.56 more ammo for the weight, 7.62 longer range more stopping power. hard to control in bursts or rapid fire. keeping mags loaded. how fast does it take for the springs to really wear to warrant a bad feed? i keep the mags for my 1911 loaded minus 2 rounds. keep 5 loaded, 5 not, then alternate once a month. im usually shooting every week or 2
