process, material, concept, mark making etc...I just see the same image driven/stylized work and artists posted.  If that's what inspires people then keep on, not knocking it...i'd just like to think that people look outside of that box...gotta get on the road.

    post it up then

i posted a few up above...steadman on the wall is dope.

i like those washes, nice change from the "contour" type drawings...the wash allows you too feel the figure from the inside out which is how things exist in reality.....if you want try this.. try using black block printing ink on some slick glossy paper(usually the cheap stuff at walgreens works well, the poster board)..first paints the gloss side all black with the block printing ink (speedball)...you can then subtract ink with wet paper towels, and also add black back on. even when the paint is dry you can re wet and work it again...i like working with these material myself

i dig the wash drawings as well

the cheesy canvasette paper is good for that too...it's better to get a couple going at a time and let the ink dry before working back into it. and india ink is really all you need. unless the other ink is cheaper.

  7. adrenochrome or whatever does not exist as a drug, it was made up by thompson

his attorney was based on oscar zeta acosta a real attorney and one of the leaders of the brown movement.

depp spent several months living in thompsons bsement and following him around...thompson really does speak in short spurts with pauses...maybe not when he was younger but certainly in his later years depp does exaggerate a bit though...and both the movie and the book are great. Rum diaries is probably my favorite, curse of lono is an easy read as well.

and rum diaries is still in pre production...rent or buy breakfast with hunter if you want to get a glimpse of what he was really like.

  8. Does anyone have experience using "liquid light" emulsion? If so do you have any suggestions for good results. any help is greatly appreciated. I'll be trying to make a few prints tommorrow and have never used it before.

Man...I just....don't...fucking...get it. The only one I like at all is the chair picture. You can say that the others "evoke images of dispare" or "show the artist's inner struggle for blah blah blah" but it's all...jesus. None of it makes sense and regardless of how you, the artist or anyone else explains stuff like this it's still a bunch of random lines and shapes and colors.

Honestly that looks like a rough draft or a sketch or some crap. Sorry but stuff like this is why I dispise the "art world" - abstract artists speaking of meaning and this and that :burn:

just trying to understand your view point. Are you saying that to be considered fine art there should be some level of ability shown through the piece? And that diebenkorn doesn't have this ability in your opinion?

    lesson101.jpg

does this piece show technical ability that in your opinion may make it better than the others?
