Infamy

USA | 2005 | 89:00

DIRECTOR/DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY: DOUG PRAY

EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: KEVIN LEWIS, TES TESFAY

SUPERVISING PRODUCER: ROGER GASTMAN

PRODUCERS: GRANT AND NANCY CIHLAR

SCREENWRITERS: ROGER GASTMAN, LASSE JARVI, DOUG PRAY

EDITOR: LASSE JARVI

CAST: CLAW, JOE CONNOLLY, EARSNOT, JASE, ENEM, SABER, TOOMER

Acclaimed documentarian Doug Pray has twice investigated the ways and mores of musical subcultures, tracking the explosion of the Seattle music scene in Hype! and the rise of the hip-hop DJ in Scratch. Without seeking to glorify graffiti or chronicle its history, Pray turns to this ubiquitous form of visual street culture with Infamy, traveling into the lives and minds of seven people obsessed with graffiti in all its forms, from simple vandalism, tagging and "throw-ups" to publicly sanctioned large productions and murals. Shot primarily in New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Los Angeles, the film offers day-in-the-life segments with highly regarded graffiti writers SABER, ENEM, CLAW, TOOMER, EARSNOT, JASE, and Joe "the graffiti guerilla" Connolly. Infamy also features numerous interviews and scenes with the friends, families and fellow crew members of the film's central magnificent seven.

I like the rest of the pieces on this wall, although I don't think they're close to being among the best pieces of those particular writers, but this totem piece looks way way too much like seak from germany's (he's on those jansport bags) stuff for my liking, and the letter forms themselves aren't great, particularly the M.

That's harsh man, damn. Although, sometimes you gotta be there!

I hadn't intended it to sound harsh, Im not gonna dick ride fools and I'm honest about my opinions (even if I'm picky) and I'm just pointing out room for improvement cuz no matter how good you are you can always get better. And I'm not saying any of the pieces are bad, far from it. I just think that all of those guys have done better. And yeah admittedly sometimes you do have to be there.

Also BUMP for DELETR for all the flix, keeping this thread going proper. Since you seem to have pics of everythin u got any pics of the msk, etc stuff in the beale art centre in UCI? I know its not technically LA but there's some sick stuff there, particularly the revok piece (one of my favourites of his) and the character of the chick with the gun and its all LA heads anyway. None of my photos of that shit came out since I was using a busted ass 99cent store camera. Also you gotta flick of that atlas piece with a vox fill in it (maybe they did more than one like that but I've only seen one, I think it was done a couple years ago)?
