One of my favorite writers from the 90s era of New York Graffiti was this guy DERO. He had such an iconic New York style with some great letter connections, but I thought in particular his D and O might be some good inspiration. Even the way he would fill in the dead space between his D and E was really good.
Yer I like the way he extends the top of the curved bar on the D into the top bar of the E neutralises that dead space nicely.

Again messy sketches but just ideas of letter formations each drawing in my mind feels better. Not saying they look any good at this point in time, but in my head I can see where I’m going.

You can get up any way you wish. I believe stickers/ slaps came about for people wanting to hit up high traffic areas in broad daylight so you could walk around a busy town city in peak hours with thousands of people around you and just slap a sticker on a post electric box doors windows etc etc as it is a one second slap.

Ok cool yer iv been a little demotivated lately as didn’t feel I was getting much further and the demotivating is making me lazy With it. Anyways a few scribbles with a lower case d I’ll keep pushing it and see where I end up but I’m determined to make it work

Yes it feels like, not a solid piece yet but almost. I want to let loose and create wilder letters but can’t wuite wrap my head around extensions I get they should flow with the letters as such but I struggle with them haha

@Ray40iv been drawing on and off for years. But I never had anyone to look too when I got stuck or frustrated so I’d just put my pen down and leave it then 2-3 years go by and you try again etc etc. Now I have applied myself to learning the basics and help from joker and everyone else has helped me improve a hell of a lot. I’m not part of a crew as I don’t know anyone around me that’s in a crew. The only people iv met that graff are when iv gone to graffiti stores but they are well established writers. But I’m of an older age now so if I go and paint I go on my own but I work full time and have a family so spare time for myself is a rarity.
You said you you are in your early teens right? Perfect time to apply yourself. If you spend time listening and looking at other people look at their progression, study the changes they have made to make their piece look better then look at yours see if them changes also work for your letter whether it be closing space, widening or lengthening bars. But most of all listen to the advice of the elders, they have been where you are and have had the struggles you have had. So their advice is the key to progression. Literally draw jokers outline over and over and over until it looks as good as the original every time you draw it. Then the world is your oyster because you have then learnt your basic letter structure. You can start to manipulate your letters in a way they you can still see the structure. This will also be a difficult stage but if you keep pushing like you did to learn your basics you will get there!

Inked the outline feeling good about this one. Just hope I don’t mess this one up colouring like the last one. The purple was too dark couldn’t see the outline so used white to try and recover but wasn’t happy

Ray just listen to joker!!! He’s given you the perfect basic letters to start from.
EVERYONE on this Forum has told you to listen to jokers advise and others but you still asking for other letter styles.
Can you draw that basic in your sleep? No.
so you were told to keep drawing until you could draw it without even thinking. If you don’t listen bro the help will fade away.

Sitting at work with my morning cuppa. Haven't really been drawing for last few months but if a shit time but I don't plan to give up that easy. Still plan to paint just need to organise my time and work out my shit lol
