  1. Any Aussies or anyone who can help me out much appreciated.

I cant get Rusto paint here to make a mop, so does anyone know what else i can use to get the same effects?

All I could recco is dulux, their oil based enamel (don't get aqua-enamel, thats a water based enamel-like paint), It comes in all the bases so you can mix any kind of paint, try a 500ml tub - but you do you have to pay for it, maybe around 20 bucks or so - depends where you are. You could always just spray an ironlak in a container and de-pressurize the paint (search for that). Although I haven't tried that last part yet.

Which is better woodstainer or floorstainer?

    What's a door made from?

    What's a floor made from?

Get the same base as you're mixing your paint with(ie oil based stain for oil based paint)

    hah, chur chur

  2. keep adding until it doesnt mix in anymore

Yah, that might the best bet - although you might waste a fair bet if you get it wrong.

I've always thought (Although I've never tried with pure granules) one or two grains/granules maybe - see how well it mixes/stains then add in another one or two next time you refill etc until you get the right amount.

And any chance you could PM that link?

    Cheers bud

  3. A (very toy) question about pilot jumbo, I'd just like for someone else to concur this statement I read early on in the ink thread.

With the pilot jumbos, it's got a big lump of felt in the container (no, not the nib). I believe this is to absorb more ink. True?

    Cheers

  4. why oink uses metheleyne blue over gentian violet

gentian violet does not seep through paint like metheleyne blue does and it just stains as it is a dye/antiseptic used for tinia and you are only able to get it on a perscription in australia i am aware oink is in dallas texas BUT! i just added that last part if u try searching for it over here.

and methelyne blue is prob cheaper

    he also uses potasium permangran

    :D

Thanks bud, does anyone else agree with this? - asdf?acanz?androidx?

And mate, dot3 does not increase ghosting, only slows down the drying time of ink for drips - it's been discussed several times before on this thread, try maybe 20 pages back?

However, I am fairly certain 'Hoppes No.9 Nitro Solvent' would do what many think dot3 does, as it is made to clean out the residue from the bores of firearms, and it claims it removes primer etc - Google it. I will soon try it out with marsh and see what happens.

    Also, I found this

    http://stepout.co.nz/products/shoe-dyes/shoe-dyes/Coxy019/

Coxy's "Deep black" shoe dye, with a convenient brush. A maybe ghetto griffin dauber(although it's a brush)/calligraphy tool?

Has anyone else tried it?I'll get it soon sometime, maybe.

    Cheers

  5. For those of you australasian heads:

Dulux is now selling most of it's testpots pre-mixed, so for those who want a nice colour for their mops can have em, HOWEVER - it's all WATER-BASED paint which isn't reccomended as it is easily buffed, but IMO it's better than nothing.

And OINK - how come you use meth blue in your recipe compared to gentian violet?Personal preference?

  6. shit is a fucking joke. k-71?? you can pay $8 for his shit or go to http://arromark.com/products/pens/bleedthru.html and get his fucking bleed through markers from the guy that makes all of krinks products and pay only half the price! or you can go to http://ami.thomasnet.com/viewitems/industrial-markers-paint-markers/steel-writer-broad-tip?&forward=1 and they got the other product colors and the price is right there $3.50 a marker not no fucking $8. so go ahead and pay an extra $4.50 for that lil krink sticker he puts on all of these markers because you just made yourselves corporate bitches!!

Cheers bro - I've only used the krink markers as I can only get the krink markers by my neck of the woods, but I'll be sure to check out the arromark stuff

  7. i was thinking about actually buying a flowpen to add addittives to the base ink, that way i get somewhat weather resistance and a nice stain.

Don't bother with the flowpen ink - IMO it's shit. I'd just use it if trying new handstyles your a bit nervous about and want some practice so if it's shit, it won't stain - as flowpen ink will not stain (atleast if the buff uses a mediocre cleaning material). I'd just recco using a highly-pigmented ink (ie MARSH) and then add whatever satiners you wanted into that.

    Edit:

woops - if you want to talk about ink, head over to the ink recipe threeeead.

  8. Yo - finally 12oz opened up registering again,

I'll do a quick lil' review of the k-71 krink ink

I used the red (to test) on glass, glossed MBF-like material and normal wood used for a door.

The buff-man used a handheld, non-aerosol spray, dulux, graffiti-cleaner. It didn't stand up to the buff very well - it left no stain at all, but on one tag which got slashed and capped it looked like I went over the slash (red on black), hahaha.

Cheers all, I'll have more questions/answers later
