^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ The only reason they make shit like that is to turn industry heads. Look what is possible if we don't have to follow competition regulations on bike design. Tron yes. Improving the bicycle, no. Not enough to validate that much toe overlap! Ha Ha.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Ha Ha Bike forums. Wow everyone is hating on that bike. Looks like it is already a success. For all the wrong reasons.

Ha! That's really good. I can't beleive the t-shirt wasn't getting caught up in the crank. That kid has skills.

Joker: Dutch commuter or any commuter would have been cool. Shepard fully fucked up on that with the connection to the propoganda angle with his pastey things. You know a utilitarian bike for the people type shit. You could hook up an easy street myspace/youtube marketing deal for that in like ten min. They are made for each other. Not to mention you can get a larger portion of the females out there interested. I see the ad with a cutie stopped at a light or some shit with the panniers filled with organic produce and the obligatory french bread. Looking stylish and confident. You could even do eco panniers like hemp or some shit. I'm making multiple statements about my lifestyle all rolled into functional and sharp transportation. Not everyone wants to roll around with a huge bag on too. I agree no one in that fixie crowd will go for it. It's not like sneakers. Those just look good and you can coordinate with your hats. Doesn't matter who choses the colors. They look good to you or not. They all lace up the same.. Bicycles? Wrong branding experiment. When you do custom limited bicycle run price tags should be in the $3000 range. Minimum. Good luck Fu-bey!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Barf is right! I feel bad for the person suckered on the gold ano and Brooks saddle. They even cheezed the Swift by making it with CroMo rails. Shit OEM move. YO HESIANDET the deal with Bettin and Stuttgart is this. Bettini didn't sign the UCI's rider declaration (basically says I'm clean find me dirty and I'm in trouble and you will take a years salary). What he DID do was strike out the years salary deal and sign it as his own version. So the politicians in Stuttgart are making noise about a clean world championships saying this one is not welcome and that one too type shit. Yo they told Eddy Merckx to stay home he wasn't welcome there. Crazy. So the UCI can't make anyone sign the aggreement as it is voluntary. So Bettini volunteered his own version and the UCI couldn't do shit about it. The clowns in Stuttgart were pissed so now they won't pay the UCI what they owe them for the hosting of the race. Now post race lawsuits are flying like crazy. UCI going after Stuttgart Bettini going after Stuttgart and Stuttgart going after the UCI for breach of contract. Best part is Bettini said before the race I am going to win as revenge for all this BS from the politicians. And he did. Word.

The FUJI OBEY!!!!!!!!!! SO this is the special order custom pile of shit made in cookie cutter land. Nice job applying "urban design sensibilities" to a junk bike. For real. Talk about missing the boat. A limited run of exclusive bikes from a manufacturer that churns out nothing but the numbers. The EXACT Opposite of boutique. I can see all the "cool" kids with their barenuckles and better making fun of the Obey crowd. Ha! Now the hipsters can match their bike to the backpack while rolling around with the stencil from the jeans getting up for Mr. F on every mailbox in town. http://www.hypediss.com/obey_x_fuji_limited_edition_bike $1400 is the price tag. LAME. They can't even adjust the saddle properly for the photos. No grips either. What about the brooks leather tape to match that saddle? Stem, bar, hs and post made by Fuji. Basically the cost in this bike is the Brooks saddle and the Miche cranks. Everything else they make a killing on because it is shitty low quality made in their crummy Chinese factory. $1400 can get you a relatively nice track bike if you put it together wisely. I know I'm ranting but WTF bikes are not strictly fashion. They serve a purpose, and should look good, but this is just some real garbage. It's like sweat shop Dunks or something. "Gotta get me the new color way on the Fuji Pista DiveBar." "Yeah man, I heard they have a burberry theme with the grips, toe straps and top tube protector." "Oh yeah, sounds tight." "Yeah like our jeans!" "LOL" "Yo, high five man" End Rant Now.

It's amazing how small he is compared to Voigt and they both produce huge amounts power on the bike. The Squadra Azzura rolled as a team this year too, which was cool to see. I'm glad they kept Spain at bay. Those guys can't ride if it's not a thousand degrees out though so I guess no surprise.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ It is under the BB for aerodynamics, like an old U-brake.

blahh - Older French bikes are a headache for this particular reason. It has a different thread pitch and shell diameter than the current standard. You have an English BB. It is a little smaller than a french one so that little bit of leeway allowed you to mash the incorrect threads together. So it may creak or it may have been the rings. When this BB is done you will be looking for a new frame. Sorry to say. Keep your eye on it and make sure it isn't backing out. My guess is that shit is going nowhere fast. Good thing is this. Cartridge BB's last for years. So enjoy your bike. Gitane or Motobecane?

[/i] Do you have an aluminium frame or steel? Does the new crank have the same size chain rings as the old? Okay Creaking: Only in the inner ring at 3:00-so it's loaded on the downstroke-This could be two things. ONE: crank not tight enough. TWO: chainring bolts could be loose. Tighten all of these things and your pedal too. Make sure the pedal threads are greased. Threads ALWAYS get the grease. Sometimes a Very thin layer of grease can be put on a spindle before installing a crank arm. This is usually not needed as the anodized finish on the crank acts as a very thin layer of dry lubricant in the interface. Also these two surfaces need to be clean as well. If neither of those work out for you the next place to look is the fixed cup- which is on the driveside where you ticking is originating. It may not be seated all the way into the threads. I doubt this is your problem though unless you have an aluminium frame. BB's will creak in well greased alum. shell sometimes. Then you need the teflon tape to fill up the void. So you have an older loose ball square taper spindle bottom bracket. I think your terminoligy is confused. A bearing race is what the bearings run on. It is the smooth surface at the back of your BB shell, same in a headset and hubs as well. You are refering to a "Retainer clip" these are very useful as a time saving device. These made quick repair and cleaning a simple task just like you thought. The extra bearings some would say are better for more contact points but a well adjusted component will work well either way. I say keep the retainer clip in service even if you replace the bearings. That way you won't have bearings spill out in a future repair. Your call. So that would be a good diagnostic cronology. Tighten shit first then if problems persist we can get more specific to pin point. Good luck

I was waiting for that too! I'm with the above statement. Campy was not fully on point in the late 80's early 90's. Suntour was still around until the fully intergrated group really took hold as a concept. (Thank you Shimano SIS) Mix and match was fading out and that really put the nail in the Suntour coffin. What really did them in was their refusal to lower quality or cut corners in manufacturing. They made too nice a product. It cost them too much to make. Keep in mind at the time the Mountain bike was revolutionary and Shimano jumped on it first becoming huge which allowed them to pour resources into the road market and go after Campy. The result was they crushed all the little guys who made bits and pieces as opposed to whole systems. In conclusion kids. If you see Suntour SuperbPro track shit, don't think just buy it. New or not it is some of THE most precisely manufactured equipment around. I would buy that over Campy shit (of the same era) in a minute. ESPECIALLY cranksets and BB's. Those NJS hubs, whoa...... For real.

HESHIANDET: Guerciotti is a very nice bicycle, especially for cyclocross. They actually made their name on cyclo cross bikes. Many Italian Cyclocross Championships and World Championships have been won on that marque. You don't see many in the states because of a lack of solid disrtibution. My guess is that particular rep is an independent and payed for those frames himself. Some guys working with the smaller brands will do that as they are not part of some enormous corporate machine. The inventory is their's and they hustle to turn it over to get next years shit or the $ back. Last year the Orbea rep was selling a couple of cross frames at the races. Same kind of thing. So yes buy those nice Italian made frames. Don't buy your road size though. Go one smaller. Goodluck.

rubbish heap two no worries on the rim. Just cover it with rim tape as you plan and it will be ok. Keep riding.

rubbish heap two: a light wheel that is stiff but not super aero will still make a very large improvement and it will do it at a much nicer price point. Rotational mass is the enemy as much as aerodynamics. Check out Mavic's Kysirium line up. Even a handbuilt wheelset with nice components can be very light and surprisingly stiff without being fatiguing and overly rigid. I don't know what kind of racing you will be doing but a modest ($475-875) invesment in an all around wheelset will save more cash for other items. When you buy racing wheels (Zipps or equivalent) keep in mind they only go on for race day or a very competetive training race (maybe). You have to be competing for points at a high level to plunk for 35 or 40 rides a season. I just jumped in here so I'm not trying to be discouraging, I have a room full of road and cross equipment myself. My budget is not huge so I spend wisely. I used to work at a shop so I have a pretty good knowledge of the equipment vs. cost vs. gain in performance ratio. The biggest difference you can make...Put in the work but do it intelligently and listen to your body. In the spring you'll be killing fools. Oh and go watch some cross races if you can't get into one. They keep you excited about racing in the off season. That was my very long winded two cents.

Helmets: Yeah anyone who says helmets are uncool or stupid can have fun getting spoon fed for the rest of their life. A buddy of mine was involved in a low speed accident WAY under 10 mph hits his head against the car causing the incident and lost the hearing in one ear. Permanently fucked will never be the same. A helmet would have given him just a little bit of material to shield his ear from the direct impact. The real tragedy in this is he is a musician and very good one too. As if life isn't difficult enough he has had to learn how to work around his limitation now. So imagine what can happen at 20, 30 or 40 mph when your head hits the pavement, a quarter panel or goes through a window. For all you peeps out there who think they're hot shit on two wheels that's cool - What you always have to assume is everyone else has their head up their ass. Bicycles are only fun if you can ride them. Be careful.

That is an old Ti frame. Early 90's hence the 1' steel threaded fork. Very nice in it's day and still is. The funky downtube was due to the limited availibility of Ti tubing commercially so larger diameters were not being produced. They used two smaller ones to stiffen it up, obviously. Early Ti was small diameter and there were many different qualities. That was what set different Ti bikes apart, the blend of alloys and the wall thickness. Even now not all Ti bikes are equal. Light they may be but stiffness and ride quality are factors that can vary widely. Bad news about the Colnago Bi-Ti is they were known to crack at the BB shell. Doesn't mean there aren't plenty of miles in it though. The other benefit of Ti is the ability to repair it. If it ever does crack I know a guy who can fix it. Cool collectors item for sure. A very nice footnote in the evolution of road machines.
