I practiced of "gill Sans" and "Monaco" so far

I like the the IBC explenation it helps. I used it on these (partly)

    What now?

Start doing words, don't just practice what you write, try out new words, find what flows and get a feel for other letters as well.

I'm not feeling those letters, but with some minor adjustments you can change that, like how there crooked and shit on some parts of the letters. Just straighten them up and it should be real nice. Theres not much flow with it, your forceing some curves. Although I'm feeling its simplicity and how clean the colors are.

Edit:Post some more of your work up, currious to see it.

  3. Ekso, I could easily of taken any of the sketches of yours and posted it in the place of the one I had posted and made the same point. And at least blistacompact has the starting simple part down.

    EDIT:Spelling :haha:

EKSO, I did not realize we were trying to out do each other. I wrote "this one's for u" because I wanted to show you two that I drew it and to come back at the unprovoked statement you made "shut up and draw, balista". If I hurt your feelings, I'm sorry. Also you burned me really really bad, son :clown:  . Kid, you suck more than most any other toy who posts here regularly and you may or may not know that, but everyone else here does. You can't even do simple letters. Now I'm not saying I'm not a toy so don't get it twisted or put words in my mouth but you really need to stop talking.

NOW SHUT UP AND DRAW some decent looking shit.

Cruel, I dont have access to a camera today so I'll post Smack tommorow.

True, I've seen his shit, he can't even do a simple, he spaces his letters to far apart, and it overall looks whack. Take your own advice Ekso, shut up and draw. Get the fuck off this site for a few months and come back when you can do a half decent simple.

    You truly are the shit

  5. Pfft everybody forgets the colorvision. Here montana is 8$ a can. I don't have that kind of money expecialy cause I mainly do peices. I find colorvision is nice and thick, and has a fairly dope selection of colors. So I use that. Rustoleum is my all time favorite for bombing, that shit lasts.

your letters suck. they have no flow. your 3-D's take a whole lot away from the focus of your letters and your phycadelic color scheme sucks. its 2005 get out of the Eighties. Also your fills fucking suck. stars are gay. but your getting of to a much better start than most retards. you've got a lot to learn. you'll probally start getting good pretty soon. but if i were you i'd stop doing that fucking new york, rek and the rest of SFR style. Once you get good at those letters you never progress. It might be a good idea to kinda go a diffrent direction, but it's totally up to you. Also you handstyle sucks. You nedd to get the flow of your letters down. And quit fucking around with crowns, dots and crosses in your "o"'s and stick to one name.

P.S. don't tell you parent's shit. lie like a bitch and deny everything

Kid, If I could I'de slap you. Writers like you are why graff is dieing. Instead of giving somebody advice you act like a dick and discourage the kid. If they're serious about graffiti then why not try to speed up his process? And whats with this shit about getting out of the 80's, fuck show some respect to the oldschool cats that made graff what it is today. Kids now a days have completely unreadable work. People like Zephyr, revolt, minone, skeme, dez, Dondi ect could do work that you could read and still had that wild look. I respect kids these days who take the time to learn their history, and kids who incorporate that oldschool steez to their work.

Most people just use regular print letters. I think it would be cool to develop a style using only script letters. Im gonna try this over the next few days and ill see how things turn out.

I dont know, I really like this for some reason, it almost reminds me of zephyr. Keep it up

  8. I can't stress enough how newcomers to the graff game need to start SIMPLE. I know you want to be dope in a week, we all wish we could be dope that fast, but the fact is, it wont happen. You need to begin at the basics. Take skateboarding for example, you not going to try to go down the halfpipe the second you step on the board, the same goes for begining in graff. Start with nice straight simple letters, almost like whats on your keyboard. Look at some other simples just for reference for how close you want your shit to be, not too close, but not too far. I spent a year wasteing my time on trying to go wildstyle right away. Needless to say it got me nowhere, and if I had spent that first year starting simple I'de probably have a years more experience. And you don't have to have wildstyle letters to have a style in general. I respect a nice clean simple peice with style as much as I respect a nice wildstyle peice. So start simple, I guarentee you that you'll get alot further in the graff game if you start simple. If you want to take my advice, then great, if you dont and you still want to try wildstyle lettering right off the bat, then whatever, but don't expect to get very far.

i'm also gonna agree with the last two posts. but i think toys should pick up a few caps to expiriment with. my girl who's just starting out is a hell of alot better with rustofats then stocks, but to each there own

Yeah it's good to mess around with different caps, but like, the first time you go out don't just use a german outline and not make an attempt to learn stocks first. I remember I bombed with stocks for about a year, meanwhile I was developing my style, and the first peice I did came out real nice. Wish I had a flick. Oh and also, the first time you go out for those who may not have painted yet, don't blow all your money on montana, and do some whack shit and have wasted your money, start with rustoleum or krylon, personaly it only makes sense to use montana for peiceing, their like 8 bucks a can here.

  10. I'm sure this has been said, sure caps are useful, but learn stocks first, spend at least a year with them, I guarntee after a year of useing stocks and you start useing caps, everything will be alot easier.
