MTA double deckers?

LIRR already has some nice looking double deckers. The trick to getting them into low-clearence routes is that the first level is dropped as low as possible, so it really only looks like a 1 and a half decker. I dont know the Metro north infastructure well enough to comment, but I think they'd probably have the room.

I did some looking and....no. its not gonna happen:

the LIRR C1 double deckers were tested into GCT but they only fit on two inside tracks, but not outside tracks.

MNCR has no plans to develope double deckers.

GCT being Grand Central Terminal, and MNCR being Metro North Commuter Railroad
