    TOPCAT brought the philly gangster style to Broadway Manhattan and then they took that style and renamed it Broadway Elegant. you know what im sayin? talk about doing my history...hah, looks like you got holes in your bucket, son. everyone from different boroughs influenced everyone, yeah they may have had certain nusances that were particular to their boroughs but they still got up everywhere and anywhere whether it be Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Queens, everywhere, and folks from all oevr took whatever they want and flipped it and made it their own unique handstyle.

     

    everything came from somewhere. philly has some raw ass handstyles and they put a lot of emphasis on tagging, now if someone wanted to express themselves that way too by rocking philly hands why the fuck hate the playa?.. if mothafuckas want to hate on someone from somewhere else trying to rock some half-assed wickets then hack em out. to each his own.

    what the fuck does style writing have to do with your physical body appearance or structure? that father of his could be one old ass grandpa looking mothafucka, but still be a dope ass writer and bomber even to this day. someone could rock the funkiest dopest burners and look just like some regular joe that has nothing to do with writing whatsoever. shit, MINONE RTW did top to bottoms. you know what i'm saying?     The style back then was a neighborhood thing. Brooklyn style was different from the style in the Bronx. If a Bronx nigga started doing a Brooklyn style he would get ragged on. Real talk.

    man trying to get philly hands down when you arent from philly is like practically impossible. you really gotta grow up looking at them every day and seeing all the subtle, less immediately recognizable shit that comes from a lifetime of exposure. seeing pictures of them, completely removed from the setting, and trying to copy what you see is going to produce some weird, skewed, fake version of a philly style. and they arent just "tall" tags. and isnt just one type of hand. there's a whole gambit of different hands coming from different neighborhoods and generations, all with variations from simple & basic to hella complicated. most dudes from philly don't even have them all down.
