If you're talking to me, you'd better ask somebody. Really though. If not, then disregard this. No disrespect, but I paint plenty. And btw, my computer's pretty fresh, so don't be raggin' on it.
  5. Ok... I'm gonna start off with this... I'm not the type to down people on 12oz. Look at my previous posts if you doubt that. But, is nothing sacred anymore? This is a graffiti forum, and I don't know who told you that wheat pasting was a form of graffiti, but they're mistaken. It's bad enough we have all these legal productions and chill spots on here, now you want to introduce this?!?! Please don't. I do respect some "street artists" or whatever you call them, but I respect them for what they are... street artists. I know many will disagree with me, but graffiti has no place in the art world. That is the beauty of graffiti, is that it is a wild beast, and as soon as you tame it and frame it some asshole comes by and tags on your property and the cycle renews. Graffiti as high/fine art is wack. That shit's played out, and anybody who tries to turn it into that will be played out quickly too. The only shit that's relevant in the real world of graffiti is people who stay current and keep it on the streets (where it belongs... or clean trains, etc.) If you want to become a fine artist, then, you have much more leverage to choose subjects than just letters and b-boy characters, etc. There will always be people who have been writing since 19XX and tell you that they had to chill off the bombing for one reason or another... but those are choices that people make. If you want to rack and write then don't have kids, get married, go to college and start a career, etc. The minute you do those things and start making excuses why all you do is mural jams once in a while, you're no longer a real writer. Now, with that said, I do give the utmost respect to the originators of this graff shit, and they will always have a place in the history books. I know a lot of wheat pasting is done on the street, but then again, it is no where near as risky as painting a spot, and nowhere near as despised by law enforcement as graffiti itself is. This, to me, seems watered down. It's 12oz. prophet, not 1gal. prophet. Oh yeah... there will always be don't knows who will give you the thumbs up for just about anything that you do, but I personally like to listen to the most critical of my critics, as they're usually the ones who know what they're talking about. And when I retire, I'm not going to start wearing Fubu and repping the graffiti nation or some shit like that. Sorry for the ramble, it's just my opinion. And for the record, I actually kinda like wheat pastes... but I like tacos too, it doesn't mean I'm gonna start a taco thread on Brick Slayers. Maybe I'm wrong, but if nobody writes an intelligent response to this, I'm probably not going to reassess my opinion. -peace

Wow! I don't know a damn thing about this beef, nor do I want to. But, anybody who thinks they put in more work in DC than Che and Aera is seriously hallucinating on some good shit. These cats got more shit running than anybody in DC, period. That's just obvious when you roll around town. I can think of very few other DC writers in recent history who've even done a street level fill-in at all, when these fools do several per week. Whether someone can "burn" Che and Aera is subjective, at best, and I don't think that either of them really give a fuck anyways. Just sayin'. ps. I'm not trying to fan the flames, just stating what I know to be fact.
  10. Oh shit. There's like 25 in each pocket. I didn't even notice that... I just figured them was the new Ed Hardy pants or something like that.
  11. Doesn't look like they're wearing any gloves in that video:o The part around 9:36 is clownin'
  12. You see that jawn picking up the tranny hooker on Polk St. last night? The question is, would I call my mother or my sister or my grandmother a jawn? Well, basically yes. But seriously... jawn is short for joint. Ya' dig? They just got lazy and dropped the t. Like when y'all drop to your t's.

All City KGB! Now that's some G shit right there.:king: The ritual... seems like a lot of writers nowadays don't be knowin' about that.
  15. Did you just say 'jawn' in the SF thread? What's this world coming to?;)
  16. I've got flicks of you in the 90's! ;) Stay down holmes. Sending you a PM, so you know who I am.
  17. For sure. It'll be later though. Gotta dig them out and scan... any requests?
  18. Lot's of us do... we're just stingy with them. :laugh1: I'm talking about bombing flicks btw, not piecing flicks. I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just being serious. It's a hassle to try to scan those and all. I usually show that shit to people who come through the house, but other than that I don't see the point. On the real though... some of the best shit from the 90's has never been posted online or in mags. But, maybe you already knew that. I'll try to dig some out and scan them. That's if you're actually serious about wanting to see them. Oh yeah, speaking of, post some Mirez if you've got it. I never see Mirez shit, and I'm fiending.
  19. Shit, does anybody have a flick of, or even remember the OZE on the rock that used to be behind the Safeway at Church and Duboce around '98? That spot was classic.

You're right. I know very little about DC history, as I've only lived here a short time. I guess the world's a much smaller place now than it was back then (internet, etc.) Word travels fast now if somebody writes the same word as somebody else, even if it's thousands of miles from home. Back then, as I'm sure you know, you'd have to travel to these places or know people from there (and without flicks, that was only hearsay.)That's why I'm glad that you posted those. It would be cool to see more if you've got them. By the way, no disrespect to DC Pez. It seems that both Pez's are official. I heard there's also a Pez in Madrid or Barcelona. Anybody else with classic DC pics, post them please.

Pez US is an OG in the bay and NYC. I don't know anything about a DC Pez, but Pez from California has been putting it down since the early 90's, if not before then. If Pez has ever been through DC, he'd definitely be running here. He's also the same Pez who paints with Mize and was featured in the NY book "Autograf." Flicks stolen from Jocelyn and Funknjazz.
