  1. J.J. Abrams traces his love of the unseen mystery -- the heart of Alias, Lost, and the upcoming Cloverfield -- back to its own magical beginnings, which may or may not include an early obsession with magic, the love of a supportive grandfather, or his own unopened Mystery Box.

  2. So I was searching for chess videos on youtube, so I can be a decent player and I ran across this...

It's a public access show in New York. Anyways, without getting into too much detail, Sal and Richard call in several times.

And unfortunately I can't stop watching this terrible show because I want to hear what they say on these shows when it's not played on Stern.

  3. I DONT DO DRUGS OR NOTHING

maybe the drinking...but i dont even drink much

i really dont know wtf is up

im doing great in school and can remember shit for that easy

but every day mundane stuff i forget as soon as im done hearing it...its wierd[/color]

I have the same problem and have been battling it for some time now. I've finally figured out what's wrong with me and sounds like you as well.

You're not really paying attention when those other things come up. You remember school shit because that you are attentive too.

I noticed for myself if I want to casually remember something I'll barely give it a second though beyond "I want to remember that." That coupled with the fact I'm thinking of other things at the same time most of the time, leads to me not really paying attention, and forgetting it.

Also memory works by association which you can exploit, or use.

  4. Man... go get an old pos computer and install debian linux on it... then you'll be on your way to being a hacker....

  5. cause he's a liar, yeah, he's a liar

he'll tear your mind up, he'll burn your soul

he'll turn you into him, he'll turn you into him

    cause he's a liar, a liar, a liar, a liar...

  6. Thanks for the suggestion, and retarding my emo development.

I figure they bootleg everything on the internet. I'm going to see if I can find a super secret site people trade high res fine art.

I will let you all in on it if I find it.

  7. Does anyone know where I can find high resolution images of art on the web?

I'm looking for stuff by like Normal Rockwell, Avedon, whatever.

I'd like to print some of my favorites out myself instead of pay 30 dollars for a poster, that way I can size them myself, save money etc. and adorn my disgustingly drab secret lair.

I like to get work done in there, not get depressed.

    Any help is appreciated.

  8. Its a well know fact that Matt Groening lived in Portland and went to school here. He also spent time in Eugene where state college is, right outside of Eugene is the town of Springfield, home of Kip Kinkle, but more importantly, The Simpsons.

I've met and talked with Mike Reiss at length before about a whole bunch of things. This included.

Not only is he extremely nice, looks like he lives in Springfield, and ridiculously hilarious, but he'd tell you that you're wrong. Springfield is simply nowhere. They don't know how many times they've said it's a fictional place, but no one listens. That the name was derived from the sheer amount of Springfields in the United States, and that people like you creep out the people like him and the rest of the shows creators, for caring that much.

He summed it up as a show about nothing, where they just shovel jokes into the hole that is the simpsons, and where they put musical spots in to kill the time they couldn't fill with decent content that week.

He also said that after they had Stephen Hawkings on the show, he still shows up to the studio occasionally and just hangs out, even if he's not on the episode they are doing.
