I don't really like to use the word God either (probably for different reasons than you) But I use it for lack of a better english term that people will readily understand without having to explain Arabic grammar. I usually ask christians (and this is not a slam on christians, Just a question to spark a thought process) I ask them , Who is God? because God is an english word and Jesus spoke aramaic so what did Jesus call God? They always stare at me blankly and then say something like well, I speak english, So I ask , well then, who changed God's name? and who gave them that authority? Of course if you don't beleive in scripture this example is irrelevent to you. Just a thought. Oh, and explain the scapegoat on the couch statement...that one slipped by me.

No problem, i'm not here to criticize everybody, I do beleive that a healthy debate is good though. Arguments don't have to be disrespectful and matches of wit all the time. You will probably see me disagreeing with people at times , but that doesnt mean I am trying to degrade them in any manner. I do beleive that a lot of the things we are going through in this world are a punishment for our own misdoings and transgressions, However you want to look at it, Most people beleive that what goes around comes around, And whether you beleive God sent it around or not is another thing. But I truly beleive that people are wronging themselves all over the world and God is punishing them for their own actions...ex. tsunamis,hurricaines,muslides, wars etc. Why havent we woken up yet?

Decomposition is not a defect in that it serves a purpose, but, the defect is when you attribute divinity to something that dies and insects feast upon. God is not part of his creation. Even pagan religions of the past used this argument to worship Wood Idols because they beleived that God was a part of everything. But in reality , this is a trick. To fool people into worshipping other than God. I agree that any human description of God will be incomplete. For sure, Our brains were not even created to comprehend God. But, as far as our relation to God and what it takes for us to come closer to God , I think this is not something unknown to man.

Wow, This thread has been popping off for sure. There is no way for me to respond to everone who directed comments to me (I do have a life too) I would like to clarify a few things that some people have accused me of. Mainly , attacking peoples religions. I went back to my posts and read them and I saw that 95% of what I wrote was completely concerning the attributes of God. The other 5% give or take was the rejection of all other false Gods. In order for a person to have certainty in beleif , they must have an absence of Doubt. And this absence of doubt would naturally cause them to reject worshipping Idols and created things. The simple fact is that if something is a creation of God , then it is not a creator in the absolute sense and thus deserves no part of divinity or worship. So why would a person who beleives fully in something bend his beleif to please people? Everyone here has an opinion, and thats ok, I see that peoples wheels are spinning and thinking about God, In my book , thats a good thing. Hopefully, we will turn to God in more of our lives on a more regular basis. Rememberence of God benefits the beleiver. You seem to have a very narrow idea of what "perfect" is without having a proper context in which to evaluate it. I understand that Hinduism and Buddhism preceded greek philosophy, It was this idea that God is everything and is a part of everything that I was referring to. This idea came from greek philosophy and spilled over into the existing Hindu and Buhhdist faiths. It even affected some muslims. And this is an idea that Muslims totally reject. One of the islamic scholars mentioned that the beleif that God is everywhere and is everything is possibly one of the worst discriptions that could be given to God ever, because since all of the prophets and messengers taught the people that God was one god and he was unique in all of his attributes, this description of God being everything made God like his creation, but he is far Above being like his creation. And symbols, part of a muslims faith is to dismiss other beleif systems , to reject that God is a peice of crap or a man or a cow or stone or a tree, If you have to shut this thread down because I won't accept that God is a peice of crap or floating around in the sewer somewhere , then so be it, Islam will still be the fastest growing religion with or without your censorship.

The reason why we can't just be returned back to dust is because the Animals were not blessed with intellect, they have instinct. We have intellect and instinct and we were preferred over all of the creation with that. Another misconception is that we are supposed to be perfect, we will never be perfect. Also there are too many scientific miricles in the Quran Unlike many other scriptures whose predictions were disproved, the Quran has too many miricles and things that They were not aware of during the time of Muhammad Also Allah laid down a challenge in the Qur’an to mankind in general and to the Arabs in particular: "And if you are in doubt concerning that which we have sent down to our slave (Muhammad) then produce a chapter like it, and call your supporters and helpers besides Allah, if you are truthful!" And When I became a muslim I had a problem with this , because I said "why would God punish someone forever? So the reply was that only God knows that if he allowed them to live forever they would disbeleive in him forever. So which one of the blessings from your lord will you deny? krak, heres the deal, I think most people can generally decipher right and wrong. The most important thing is....If you are doing something good , are you just doing it for self gratification or so people will see you as someone who does good things? Or do you you do it to please and gain the reward of God as well as of course the good consequences of good? We know that The reward for Good is more Good and the reward for Evil is more Evil, but , on another level, What if all your good goes to waste because it wasnt sincerely for God?

I beleive that God is fully active in every sense, but I don't beleive that he directly communicates with humans on every level. I think he shows us signs and then guides us through his scriptures on the finer details. Like how to pray, how to deal with ones family, He tells us about his nature and tells us not to worship or beleive in anything else besides him as being God owning or sharing in his divinity, things like these, Of course we have whats called Common sense , You don't need a scripture to tell you not to hit your mother with a bat, but where did that knowledge come from Anyway? From God. I beleive he created everything (even knowledge) and continues to manage and sustain everything. He knows eveything although we have free will to choose. As far as God not being Just without revealing guidance, Has God ever talked to you directly? or to anyone you know? By the way, the quran was not revealed as a book, It was revealed as the Word of God directly to the prophet Muhammads memory. and continued that way. Early Muslims have only compiled it as a book for means of convenience. It is supposed to memorized and committed to the heart, not just written on paper.

Ok lets talk about imperfection...since we can't use a peice of crap as an example, let's go a little further up the food chain and talk about humans. #1 If we dont drink-we die #2 If we dont eat -we die #3 If we dont sleep- well I'm not sure what happens after the too tired to think phase but i'm sure it isnt pretty. #4 If we get sick we do all types of imperfect actions such as Puke, get diarheaa, etc etc. #5 We cant see the future #6 we die God doesnt need drink God doesnt need food God doesnt need to sleep God doesnt get sick God sees all and hears all God doesnt die These are just a few of the Imperfections we were created with , Of course it is All part of God's perfect plan. But Us , we are not perfect and could never share in God's perfection. To say that we are part of God and he is part of us is to Lower God from his station of Exaltedness and make him humanlike or a creation, He is the Creator, Not the creaton. Something doesnt create itself. Not even in our limited scope could we ever imagine a car coming into existance on its own with no manufacturer . So what about us ? are we Gods of our own? I have spent a LOT of time contemplating and studying the nature of God and In my humble opinion there is a flaw in that "God is everything theory" I used to beleive that too, But then look at a peice of doo-doo floating and a toilet and say to yourself "is this God'? God , the creator is faaaaaaaar removed from All imperfections in my view. He is The most high. The one who is in need of nothing. That Idea that God is everywhere and everything came from greek Philosophy and the orientalists which spilled over into hinduism and Buddhism and recently became popular with these new wave religions that basically lift responsibility off of man from being moral and responsible for his actions because they beleive that when you die you are reincarnated...and you can just "try again" Of course We can keep discussing this...I can talk about this for years.
