Artsy on a graff page.. now that would be strange wouldn't it? :huh: The Harlem photos are just a guy who took photos of his neighborhood over the years and uploaded them online when computers came around. I don't believe he was doing it to document anything, just liked to take pictures I guess. A lot of people from all around the city have looked through their old archives and went back in more recent years to take a look at how much things had changed in the neighborhoods they grew up in. As you can see a lot.. You can google or flickr tags like Morningside 1992 or L.E.S. 1989 and the gems are usually waiting by the dozens. Graff writers usually took close up photos of theirs and their boys on the walls. But amateur people got the whole wall and more. Like looking through derelict time. I posted the original photo of the lot from 1981 when it was first painted white and those wheat pasted pieces were the only thing up.
