North Bergen man arrested for fliers saying he'd chop off vandal's hands

NORTH BERGEN — A Township man was arrested Saturday for posting fliers saying he would chop off the hands of the person who vandalized his home and then post the video on YouTube, police said.

Police say that Fred Buesing, 61, posted fliers offering a reward of $200 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who spray painted graffiti on his garage door. The “special bonus” was a sentence that said “be the only person to watch me chop off their hands live before I post the video on YouTube.com,” said North Bergen Police Sgt. Arthur Dell.

Dell said that police are investigating the April 21 graffiti incident.

Officer Frank Ponce noticed about a dozen fliers on utility poles in Buesing’s Liberty Avenue neighborhood while he was out patrolling Saturday morning, Dell said. The fliers contained Buesing’s address and telephone number, he said.

“We removed them all from the poles,” Dell said.

Buesing is charged with causing a false public alarm, a fourth degree offense, and was released on a summons, Dell said. He will have to appear in municipal court although a date had not yet been set as of Saturday evening.

No one answered the telephone at a number listed for Buesing’s address.
