  1. Gotta tip my hat to the devils. They played a hell of a series and they earned the W. they had a good game plan for us and executed it to perfection. Our high powered offense with all that scoring depth doesn't mean much if we never have the puck. We'd spend entire shifts just chasing them around our own end. When we did finally get it from them, they'd forecheck hard to force a turnover or we'd chip it out and go for a change so the next line could run themselves ragged chasing them. Their cycling killed us. I think there was also the combination of looking ahead to the rangers, and it's hard to get ur emotion back up for the next series after beating ur most hated rival. But on the plus side, making it to the 2nd round in their first year gives all our rookies invaluable experience going forward which I think will pay off big, especially for guys like schenn couterie and read. It'd be nice to add a new #1 d-man to replace pronger this off season. Ryan suter would sure look nice in orange & black.

  2. Giroux suspended 1 game. Not sayin it isnt warranted, but I thought ovie's hit on girardi and webers head slam on zetterberg were much worse. Esp considering giroux has been in the league 4 years and ha never been fined or suspended. devils cycle has been wearin us down big time, we're spending far too much time chasing them around our own end. Either we dump it out and go off on a change and then they bring it right back in and go back to work. Or we are too tired after awhile and some1 gets left wide open in front of bryz for a slam dunk.

  3. I wouldn't count the caps out yet. The cap have had a lot of success against the rangers over the last few seasons including winning the last two playoff series they played them. Every game so far in this series has been really tight. It's gotta be tough on them emotionally to lose in 3ot but at the end of the day, it's still only one game.

Dunno if it's official that hes playing or not yet, but I read an article today and kovi said he's ready to go and feels much better. Also said he took part in their morning practice today. So I would have to assume he's in.

  4. I been waitin for him to retire for years now. He owned us for a long time. He's doesn't have it like he used to, but he still holds all the major goaltending records an is a garunteed 1st ballot HOF'er. He carried a lot of devils teams deep with very little offensive talent.

Game today was great. Came out the gate pretty wea but dominated the majority of the play after that. Was pretty frustrating going shotless on back to back pp's in the 1st. Looked like some fatigue started to set in for nj in that game after playing back to back ot/2ot games.

  5. Bryzgalov really misses playing for Dave Tippet right about now.

The guy's system made him look like a top 5 tendy in the league, like it's doing for Mike Smith.

I was tellin some1 the same thing the other day. Tipper plays a defense-first type of system. They could put any goalie in there and he's going to do good. Just look at mike smiths stats with the bolts last year compared his stats with phx this year. Lavi's system is the exact opposite and it leaves the goalie much more exposed.

  6. Im pretty sure he has to actually make contact with the puck with his skate for it to be disallowed, but I do agree it shoulda been waived off by the officials on the ice due to the goalie interference. Per the NHL twitter feed:

At 19:21 of the third period in the Rangers/Senators game, video review was used to determine if Ottawa Senators forward Chris Neil kicked the puck into the New York net.*** Video review was inconclusive in determining if Chris Neil’s left skate propelled the puck into the net. Call on the ice stands, good goal Ottawa.

  7. This is just depressing. And I thought the playoffs were supposed to be decided by the players? I understand wanting to call it tight to avoid more shenanigans, but this was just over the top. We were short almost the entire second period. and I've never seen some1 get called for 2 minors and get a game misconduct for it either. Still, if that's the way it's going to be called, you need to adjust your game and focus on discipline and they didn't do that at all. And another no show from the defense and both goalies is disheartening as well. But on the plus side, it doesn't matter if you lose by a goal or 10 goals, losing is losing, and we're still up3-1.
