THat second scenario is something that has actually happened to me. They were drunk, picking on my 14 year old brother and his friends. I convinced them i was dialing the cops, so he stole my phone from me. I didnt want to punch the kid so I choked him out. His friends looked embarrassed to even be friends with him.A week or so later I ran into the kid again hanging out with some different friends at the exact same spot, walked straight up to him and said "Hey i know you."
he looks at me, "Yeah? From where?"
"I choked you out a week ago."
He looked at me shocked and said "Oh my bad i thought you were a lot younger."
I told him he done goofed up and he shouldnt be picking fights with anybody of any age. I then appologized for doing what i did and excused him for being drunk. You could tell the faggot wanted to start shit again but he was frozen in place, probably embarassed because his friends were around and heard the whole thing. Makes me wonder what story he probably fed his friends about that night, and how he's gonna reinflate his ego after that.

I heard a really interesting factoid the other night.
Seems that due to Victorian oppression, whites actually admired the freedom slaves had in the 1700's, as slaves weren't subject to such rules. Also, when Lincoln led the Emancipation Proclamation, black folks were still rounded up and told they had to work, but as free men.
Lots more I can't remember. I'll grab the interview from the net and upload if anyone is interested.
Edit, I remembered one more, slaves weren't beaten as much as is portrayed in movies and books, since you couldn't beat a man and expect him to work for very long. Average beatings were 1 beatings per slave per year.
Also, farmers worked much harder than their slaves. Funny how history would have us believe otherwise.

nah, i agree with alot of what youre saying, but i'd say taht the third party needs to be in the middle of the two growing extremes. this would be inherently frustrating though because i disagree with alot of the republicans platform, and i wouldn't want a centrist party to water-down its agenda with bullshit to appease the right.
In a perfect world there would be a centrist party.
But one does notexist, and could not exist in this current political environment.
i actually really want the republicans to have complete control of the country. let them enact everything they want, no democrats in congress. do this for a decade, and in 15 years, see how awful the country is. the rest of the world would shun us in disgust.
We more or less did that for 8 years and look where it got us.
16 years, and we'd be a third world country with maniacs in control of our nukes.
the bottom line is, i think that the countrys problems are insurmountable for another generation or two, and even then, i dunno how they are gonna change. let the west coast and northeast become part of canada and let the red states, the rural ass south and midwest, do what they want.
Sometime's I think the east and west coast should secede from middle America.
That would never happen though.
