• Modesto is known as the home of American Graffiti, but it doesn't need to be known as the home of the other kind of graffiti. Thus, we're big fans of Modesto city Councilman Dave Lopez's soon-to-be-launched Partners in Paint program. Lopez is lining up support and contributions for the program, in which teams of high school students and Boy Scouts will paint over graffiti on weekends.
