Well, Quebec is a province(not a country), in Canada, a bilingual country. So the people of this province, should speak and understand both languages.
That being true, is an intelligent statement.
Another one would be this, when the English won the war over the french, they let them keep there language and religion.
Key words: Let them.
Therefore, there should be no problem with English speaking and understanding in this province, because the English(as tyrannical and oppressive as they have proven to be throughout history) at least didnt force the french to convert to speaking only english.
Btw,
Anglos are home, and in terms of graffiti, montreal wouldnt be half as bangin' without anglos, a few examples being ;-)
The thruth is that they could not, even if they wanted to, convert a whole territory to an other language and culture. History as proven that you cannot occupy and/or culturally influence a population on their own land. The US proved it in Vietnam and are proving it today in the middle east. Remember that the anglophones did not "let us" keep our language, we fought for it thru october 70 like its been mentionned earlier and thru various laws in order to protect culture and language. Now i really dont wanna play the nationalist here cause im not but get your historical facts straight. Us speaking french as never been about anglophones kindness, its been about real street presence and cultural strenght!
Now we might be able to say ENOUGH SAID
