  1. Are writers not people?

I can handle flack, and will expect alot from you as I post my progress :)

If "nobody at all wants to see that stuff...", feel free to ignore threads started by me, hehe :D

Any other comments on what I have done are welcome.

    Peace to all.

  2. Prawn Laska:

People tend to be nice, and give constructive criticism, to those who show respect to those who have gone before, and do not profess to be better than the next guy.

I am humble and modest, as a newcomer to this forum and graffiti.

I know I'm shit, and anyone with talent would surely not care about me of this thread enough to get mad about it.

If I had come onto the forum saying i was good, or expecting skilled artists and writers to say I am good, I would expect that sort of response, but I didn't, I made sure not to tread on anyone's toes :)

Just a suggestion as to why people have not been nasty about my low-level attempts at graf.

    Peace,

    DRP - Phear

EDIT: I'm not being funny, but maybe people have been nice because I don't call strangers erm.. "doochbag". ;)

  3. If you get alot of writers to show their work, try and get local papers to back you, and maybe someone the pricks in city hall will respect, like a doctor, teacher, lecturer, to fight your case.

My lecturer helped us get a radio station at university for example, without him, i wouldn't happen.

Make your "problem" into an "issue" (by getting people on your side) and they will give you anything.

It's all about working their system :D

  4. Sketchy - True, you were not a dick, thanks, I can handle harsh criticism, kinda over common in "graffiti culture", anyway.

As for standing in front of the pieces, i realise that's lame haha.

Only been at this a month or so, and not put in much time, it's all about this summer :D

Maniac, thanks for that. (I realise im no one here, but i might politely mention you can edit previous posts if you have shit to add, im a regular forum user so i notice these things hahah :) )

EDIT: I didn't do the cubes, those were by a local hero type guy who said i could use it as a background, he had his flick. Doh!

  6. Hello all,

New to this forum, found it to be the best forum for writers online, less ignorant and aggressive place than some others.. so thanks...

I write Phear and I'm real new to graff, respectfully learning. I am a regular forum user, and have been moderator and admin on various forums in the past.

Going to post my first two pieces here if no one minds ;)

Been blackbooking for a while, needed to take it to the wall :D

This was my first piece, lines pretty blurry, but i was quite happy with it...

Wearing a suit because i had to go back the next day for the flick, on the way to college.

Like i said, legal wall so im not worried about posting my photo...

Planning or hitting the streets once im good enough not to shame myself...

Planning on painting all my cash away in the summer, get some skills up :)

Anyways, comments, advice, ideas.... All welcome!

    Thanks.

    DRP - Phear.

  7. I'm no "rich kid", but writing is rebellion, art, expression, creation, destruction...

Every man (or woman ;) ) has a right to these things, no?

I admit the middle classes get given everything, and graffiti is mainly a working class artform, but respect to anyone who has a positive and humble attitude to writing, be they rich, poor, male, female, young, old, rich poor, and race or religion.

We are all the same in the end.
