What's up you all -- just spent the last 5 hours on this JA thread.

This is Kevin Heldman, I wrote the Rolling Stone article on graf and JA back

in 1995. I know it's been posted here repeatedly and you all said some

good things about it -- much appreciated -- in the future there's a better link,

The article came about through meeting up with SANE's brother SMITH,

SANE was already dead -- he hooked me up with JA -- I met KET through

some housing works program, KET hooked me up with GHOST.

 

JA is an athlete, an artist, a professional -- dedicated like mad; he risked his

life repeatedly when I was with him and they didn't care about the article,

they threw the photographer out, he came with us one night

and he was being kind of a media dick, he's acting like he's doing

them a favor. JA, KET, SMITH treated me with tremendous decency all the time

and they didn't have to. They sincerely believe they have

a cause in life, a mission -- sometimes they question it, but then they

just go out and do it anyway, do their thing, at great great personal sacrifice.

 

I'll shut up now -- just wanted to say I have tremendous respect for the man.
