humm...
1. rules of 3d? come on... the whole point of graff is to break rules, who cares which way your 3d is or isn't pointing? If people adhered to "the rules of 3d" then the whole 3d style that Erni, daim, seak etc. have been doing wouldn't exist. Instead we'd be stuck looking at 3d's dating back to the 70's...
2. rules of color? who says everything has to match or even be consistant? Try something new, experiment! People get tired of the "tried and true".
3. Consistant letters? wtf? Unless your painting a sign for a store or painting some font, there is no reason to keep things consistant; unless thats the look your going for. (example: Giant BA - his old peices were so consistant that one end of a peice mirrored the other end "the look he was going for") or (example: Fader Outlaws - New peices are so random, everything from colors to letters; the only thing consistant here is the randomness, and In my opinion is so amazingly refreshing)
Basically graff should be something you enjoy doing. Realize the fact that not everyone likes to paint the same styles that have been around forever and some do... Some people enjoy painting really agressive serious styles and while others like to keep things loose and fun... I beleive often times you can tell what a person is like just by how serioius or not they paint.
Not everyone has something to prove... we all enjoy bombing, painting and tagging just the same.
While everyone is entitled to their opinions; keeping things constructive and on the positive side of things tends to help the local scene where ever you are. Our only enemies should be the police, not each other.
On another note: I just discovered the "more" button for the smilies!
