  1. "Yeah, Chuck, you're right. I mean, sometimes there's a thin line between a fan and a stalker. What it comes down to is that there are just some places I can't go if I don't want to spend all of my time trying decide which is one or the other. That's the down side to being in the public eye, sometimes I don't even think they know which they want to be."

Put your hands on the hood! But were on the back of the car it be the trunk! You speak inglis?

Well... you going to tell the rest of the story? My favorite is when they ALWAYS ask what you do for a living and they never believe you. It best to let them fuck up and THEN tell them though... the reactions are priceless. It is just short of "Do you know who the fuck I am" (of Detroit City Council fame) :haha:

Anyways... just letting you all know that "The Alley" concept that I almost got laughed off the boards for is going well (chill-spot painting, youth involvement, mentoring, whatever). Youth/artists have been coming through regularly and people are learning (for those that value that kind of thing).

Much thanks to those here who have helped with the concept (either in the alley or with the youth and Expressions)- Loaf, Irate, Ashes, Death, Fel, and anyone I forgot. Here's some pics.

Different alley... same concept except that it's on the other side of a park. Props to Naro for the sketch...

  3. Four days now since any real posts (ie a flick, or a comment about it, or about a spot or a piece, or someone's work without bitching).

Tick tock, tick tock... does the 5 day rule apply to the death of a thread?

  4. F: Graf for $400

Alex: And the answer is... "What a mess!"

    F: What is Detroit graffiti?

    Alex: More specific

F: Ummm... and the soap opera surrounding it?

Alex: Actually we just got word from the judges that either response would be sufficient. And you have control of the board.

F: I think we all have control of the board, Alex... and look at the mess we've made.

  7. What a punk... he's probably a little bitch- I hate him and everything he writes. I'm so much better then him at life. He sucks.

I was practicing for 12oz Detroit and promised someone I'd post that... how did I do?

  8. Style 5-0 v.1

And in this episode of Style 5-0 two veteran graf po po's nab Mr. Brock for allegedly misnaming a popular 'Teader' style as Gedd.

Mr. Brock was later released as his misnomer was found to be a prank after evidence was reviewed and his winking smiley (;) ) was proven to be indicitive of his SARCASM.

The veteran officers are now under investigation for mistreatment of Mr. Brock... stay tuned.

  9. 26 Sided... are you talking about that stuff Malt was doing (I think)... Telapath Math?

Here's a couple more newer-older one's (around 1998) from Fel (any fans?... got more but you can probably find flicks of his work all over the web especially since there's quite a few still runnin- but these I haven't seen online)

  10. And... I have photographic contributions for the board (not just ramble). Stop me if you've seen these, but here is some old school per request:

These are flicks I took for Inside Southwest Detroit (http://www.insidesouthwest.com/artofswd-aerosolart.htm) in Patton Park. Some are from '94 and the others around '98.

Do we need more or is already published stuff tired? If so it was just in response to the need for vintage. Enjoy.

  11. Directors Cut

    seeking...

I felt the "other" versions of my post were nagging because they summarized my points from the last posts that I'm sure you (and most others) already understood. I didn't want to repeat it for the one or two and plague the board with blah blah blah.

The other parts I took out were random sarcasm about my abilities/opinions and people's reaction to them... but I prefer to be more directed/selective about my approach so my better judgement told me to keep it. ;)

I agree that your input has been constructive as has everyone's. Again thanks.

  12. And the criticism begins (that's what I posted for though)...

    First... to Squrrl & seeking-

Just "for the aesthetics" would be a misinterpretation. But that misunderstanding could be my fault. It would be nice for the work in SW to look better. But that's not all I'm interested in.

I've been in to graf for years (sketchbooks, markers, flix, websites, etc.) but I'm just begining to learn some aerosol skills. And I'm learning those so I can teach them because I'm "for the youth" (more than pushing the art to new heights or whatever else). Graf is an interest of mine so it's a place where I can contribute. And we all know... both the youth and the graf in SW needs some contribution.

So now my job is to get better at all the things I enjoy about graf so that I can enjoy my new skills (as I get them of course) AND pass it on. I don't believe this is a new concept... and if it is then I'll be glad to be that for SW if nowhere else.

Thanks for the offer to contribute in the way of criticism... it helps!

    Second... to nicole mole-

I'm glad you asked... I almost forgot that people are wondering why we went over that piece buried in the depths of abandoned Whereeverland. That piece had a clear message on it (assumingly from the artist)... "Go over this piece" and something about a mess up. NO disrespect intended. Thanks for asking, I forgot about it
