The Edge's riff's on the Zoo TV version of "Mysterious Ways" kills all of the ones on their albums. But albumwise, I'd say "Bullet the Blue Sky". <Edit: I mentioned "Please" for its solo, which is not a riff... Substitute with "Gloria".>

Is it just me or has this thread sort of wandered off the point a bit???

Tuesday's gone- lynard skynard ( check out the end of "dazed and confused")

anything by rage against the machine,placebo, pixies and radiohead deserves a mention

also the riff from plug in baby (muse) kicks very large amounts of ass:D

hendrix. basically anything he played that wasn't a solo was the best riffs ever, and then everything else he played was the best solos ever.

 

motorhead--ace of spades.

 

i'll agree with that pixies choice.

 

the ramones--proving you only need to know 3 chords if you play them right.
