USA Cycling is raffling off two of EF Pro Cycling’s racing bicycles emblazoned with the Rapha + Palace paint scheme from the Giro, and the funds will help support co-ed cycling programs at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCU).

Earlier this year EF Pro Cycling and Cannondale announced plans to support HBCU and TCU collegiate cycling teams in 2021. The plan is to launch two new collegiate cycling programs — one at a HBCU school and another at a TCU school.

Raffle entries can be obtained here and 100 percent of the donation will go toward the programs. For every $20 donated USA Cycling will award one entry into the raffle. Winners will also receive a Rapha + Palace jersey as well as a special edition helmet and sunglasses from the 2021 Giro d’Italia.

The raffle closes on December 23.

Rapha and Palace Skateboards have collaborated to create a limited-edition collection to be worn by our crew at EF Pro Cycling at this year’s Giro d’Italia. In addition, the team’s livery has received a complete overhaul that will see our Cannondale race bikes and POC helmets and eyewear decked out with the distinct design from Palace.

Instead of mirroring the pink of the race’s maglia rosa, the switch out kit features a fearless design that might not be steeped in cycling history but will now form a part of it. Rapha and its designs regularly celebrate the sport and cycling history whilst Palace is disruptive, witty and always surprising — authentically straddling the worlds of high fashion, streetwear and core skate. The result of the collaboration is a team kit quite unlike any other seen in the peloton so far. Embracing the breakaway attitude, Swedish protection pioneers POC will enhance the switch-out look with bespoke helmets and eyewear, including a unique edition of the groundbreaking Tempor helmet.

“You can’t help but smile, turn your head, and say ‘what?!’ At least that’s our hope when you see the fabulous collaboration of Rapha x Palace on our EF Pro Cycling riders, complete with bikes and accessories from our partners. Underneath the strain and struggle, even WorldTour professional cycling is fun,” said EF Pro Cycling President Mary Wittenberg. “We aim to show cycling is for everyone, and that it’s worthy of your attention — and smiles. Welcome to skate meets road racing in the land of fashion.”

In a race that features a good mix of stages and includes three time trials, the riders will be seen aboard each of Cannondale’s three elite level race bikes: the SuperSix EVO, the SystemSix, and the SuperSlice TT bike. Each frame features a graphic design complete with bright logos and unique graphic elements that seamlessly integrate with the Rapha and Palace Skateboard collection.

Off the bike, there is a range of team edition casualwear from Palace, which will be worn by the team at the Giro and available online alongside the limited edition team kit. The off-bike collection includes T-shirt, Long Sleeve T-shirt, Cap, Hoodie, Oxford Shirt and Palace GORE-TEX Jacket.

In this strangest of cycling seasons, nothing is as it seems. With the calendar turned on its head and the youngest riders winning the oldest races; it’s time for more twists and turns at this October’s Giro d’Italia.

Since returning to the men’s pro peloton two years ago, Rapha has designed to disrupt. In a sport renowned for its lengthy rule book and chaotic calendar, we’ve shone a light on new faces, and unorthodox races. But for a truly fresh perspective on the sport, we’ve teamed up with a company that is alien to cycling’s aesthetic, oblivious to its origins, and untrained in its traditions.

In collaboration with Palace Skateboards, we’ve created a limited edition switch-out kit for EF Pro Cycling. Instead of mirroring the pink of the race’s maglia rosa, the team’s riders will wear something altogether different. And it’s not just the team’s kit that has undergone an overhaul.

Everything from their casualwear and helmets to the bus and the bikes have been redesigned for the Italian grand tour. Combining influences from early noughties club culture and video games with a flamboyant colour palette, Palace’s designs are sure to raise eyebrows in the peloton and far beyond.

I remember this kit causing a bit of a kerfuffle, something about the sponsorships etc not being fully legal or something and Vaughters taking shit for it.  Worked wonders for the marketing though.

I wanted to snag a tee or bidon but fuck this nonsense.
