Elena Delle Donne Posted December 8, 2020 Share Posted December 8, 2020 chuck yeager died today at 97. things general chuck yeager did: - shot down 11 planes in WWII - was shot down himself over france, evaded german patrols, joined a french resistance group to get out of france via the pyrenees and spain. he gained their trust by helping them build bombs, which he'd learned from his father - broke the sound barrier with two broken ribs in what was essentially a rocket with a windshield that was dropped from a plane like a bomb - flew dozens of experimental aircraft, sometimes in the same month, walking away from at least one well-known crash (the nf104) - flew in korea and vietnam - ~121 (?) confirmed kills - power twitter user Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
