Anybody know what's up in Dallas? I am here for a meeting and have not planned what to do with my free day on Sunday.

I believe Deep Ellum might be a thing for you to check out if you're into live music or the bar scene.

Do y'all have Red Light Cameras in y'all's city ?

Houston doesn't anymore, but a Small town right out side.  Anyhow, found this tidbit on the matter a little disturbing...  it's kinda like price gouging to say the least...

what humble does not say is that it shortened the yellow light duration by at least one second to get to the red light faster. That's what all the cities did when they installed red light cameras. I got one on Westheimer at the 610 loop back in the day and that intersection is about 1.5 blocks wide.

Cities ostensibly put RLCs in to increase safety and save lives. The accident that causes the most injury or death at an intersection is the t-bone. And the t-bone is the lowest frequency accident at an intersection. Most tickets issued by RLCs were for not stopping before making a right turn. These are the lowest frequency accidents at intersections. In order to ensure more right turn violations were written, cities reduced the length of the yellow light. Reducing the length of the yellow light, increased the t-bone accidents but increased the number of tickets issued, thereby increasing revenues.

Had cities wanted to increase safety, they would have increased the length of the yellow light to allow runners to clear the the intersection.

It was a scam from the beginning to the end.

Getting rid of this old briefcase. Instead of throwing away I want to place it in an odd location and maybe leave something odd inside. Asking advise on where, what, how, when?
