I even got into contact with the man himself and he wanted a copy to I'm in northern California... and i have no idea how I have it in my posession because I know deejay bird is from Chicago and I honestly can't remember how I got it, but i have his mixtape called "aerosolics" on cassette tape... it's a mixtape with a bunch of graffiti/train Hip Hop on it from the 90s... rappers like KRS1 and the Artifacts, etc.. pretty sick mixtape though..i think it came into my possession around 2000 or 2001. I only know of two writers that i knew back in the day that had connections to Chicago... one was raised there and one lived and painted there for a few years... maybe one of them gave me the mixtape

NYC over the trauma of 9/11 but before they got it all dialed in and shit turned corporate as fuck. Can’t remember what even this was, only that I was drunk and having fun at a block / park party. Kids were skating, someone was DJing, 12oz was exploding and I was having fun. That pic was 06’ (I took it) at the park across from aNYthing store.. it was Futuras 50th bday jam they did. And yeah we drank mad brews that afternoon. 4 1

~KRYLON2~
BTW the Time travel crew was on 88.5 or 89.3FM, I can't remember lol. Kevin Beecham was the main dude, I have some of his old compilations hidden in some box somewhere. They just played good hiphop from Chicago and everywhere else. I'm pretty sure I have a tape recording of early french and german artists he played on his show 2
Drue_Down
@~KRYLON2~ Kevin was the man, presence & I would roll through often to drop live freestyles & new music. I was raised on WNUR since the 80s. On Saturday (day time) they played unedited hip hop (even 2 Live Crew & Too $hort) I used to have crates of tapes from all their programming including dub reggae, drum-n-bass, dancehall, etc. It was a luxury to have access to an underground college radio station growing up.
Drue_Down
@misteraven @~KRYLON2~ see Chicago Rocks, early local Midwest zines were B&W on newsprint. Somewhere I also have Klip Art, which actually glued real photos to some pages. Wild. I was just grabbing taco seasoning in my pantry and a crate near some art supplies grabbed my attention, it’s got a bunch of old graff zines from the 90s, but I know I have a ton more, including almost every LIFE SUCKS DIE mag, the best mag ever, I believe I’m only missing issue 1. I’ve lost a lot over the years, mostly loaned and never got them back who knew I’d be so heart broken about it 25 years later. I’ll post more when I find them, they’re probably buried in the garage with my old graff flicks. 3

~KRYLON2~
Yeah there's no doubt we both enjoyed that great age of Chicago hip hop and graffiti. I miss that feeling of the unknown, whether it was a show at a new venue, or a house party on the other side of town. I'll never forget the countless people I've met and had awesome time with, even if it was just for one night. 1
Joker
Just went through four large totes full of photos and other family memorabilia. I’ll have some goods to share in about a week when I get home and have some time to sift through it. Mom saved everything... 5

My dad bought a 64 baby blue impala 4 door. It was a tank/boat 17.5 feet long. Him and my brother were fixing it up around the time my brother was 17. I remember it being longer than my moms minivan. One day, my brother took me with him and some friends to a liquor store on the edge of town that one of their friends mom worked at so they could get drinks for the weekend. The owner was a straight up alcoholic so he hardly ever carded. It was like 3:30 or so cause we were out of school. We got there and dude was passed out behind the counter. Went home, got the impala, came back and filled the trunk with booze. Those trunks would probably fit 4 grown men. After that, locked up the store and the kid called his mom to come clean the guy up. Since we were all teenagers, I’m sure they just took cheap shitty liquor cause they didn’t know any better. That was a pretty good time. 3
