Mauler5150
I find it funny that this thread was started by Harvey Wallbanger and is titled with the phrase "Trap House:" Well given I interpret this as referring to a trap that comes from letting a "Ho use (your) colon", I hope Harvey was prepared for it lest the Ho get covered in shit. As for it referring to a house laden with traps or the use of stanley knives or kitchen utensils as weapons to harvest flesh from the unwitting who inadvertently find themselves in such a location surrounded by soulless sharks, I am familiar with such locations and feel embarrassed for the owners who allow their domain to become occupied by their incessant fears of the love they will never know of or have beyond having witnessed it when I stupidly entered such a ghoul infested place. I wrote the above as my initial take on this topic, but if it is related to fixing the fuck ups that others have made due to their selfishness and stupidity with whom they allow to occupy their residence in the past, then please carry on. fat ralphy
Bidet’s are fire. @Mauler5150 in the US a trap house is usually an abandoned house that a dealer sets up shop in - prime trap house days we’re probably during the crack epidemic. But basically these houses were made often with makeshift barricades and trap doors and shit to aid in the product distribution and safety of the dealership. Most of us in this thread are doing the work ourselves, hence the reference. 2

LUGR
Do people even still use saws like that?
mr.yuck
@LUGRI've never seen some one break out one of those on a job site in my 25 years. If I saw some one show up on one of my jobs with that shit, I'd give them a raise on sight. They are about to show you some bad mon tings. 3
CLICKCLACKONER
@mr.yuckthe only time I see those archaic saws is in Home Depot when you have to cut your own molding.
metronome
I need to replace a leaking outdoor spigot, and I want to install one of these aquor house hydrants. Before I start ripping and tearing what's the standard stem length on these pricks? 8"?
mr.yuck
I don't think I've ever seen some shit like that @metronome what makes that thing special?

It is self draining, no fucking around with freeze protection. My shit is leaking now because the rubber gasket got all fucked up. I figure if I'm going to have to do the annoying task of replacing it, may as well do the upgrade. Also finishes with a nice clean flush look.
mr.yuck
Interesting. Sadly I'm no help to you. Kinda reminds me of one of these joints. But you really only see these on commercial buildings. 1

metronome
I think I worded my question like a complete asshole. What I was trying to ask is if 8" stem is the standard length for an outdoor faucet in general, IE - I have to clear about 8" to get to the threaded fitting inside my wall from the exterior wall.
ndv
@metronome No you didn't. I understood what you were asking. That's a good question. I would probably start with the builder of the home to see if they are not an odd ball builder and may have thicker or thinner walls than other builders. Unless there is a thickness code for resufentional opposed to commercial? IdK
mr.yuck
Sup Foo's? I finally installed some closet drip today. I bought this shit from Lowes. It was a closet kit that's meant to fit in one of them 2x8 ft long boy closets with the tower in the middle and then hang bars on either side to the wall. I don't have that set up but i liked the look so I copped 2 kits and figured I'd just rearrange the pieces to suit my needs. Easy peasy, right? I got started on this butt fucking piece of shit at 9 am, made 2 trips back to Lowe's to buy legs for this thing and lots of different toggle bolts, lag screw, and washers for spacers, to custom put this thing back together. I wrapped up right around midnight. Here we have exhibit A Base cabinet First and foremost this shit didn't come with legs. It was originally supposed mount directly to the wall above the baseboard. Turns out I forgot just how wack the framing was on this wall and if I was to make this thing work, I'd also be hanging this 150 lb tower from the pocket door framing. The pocket door framing is like 3/8" thick with an 8th of an inch thick metal on one side of it so you don't poke screws through into the door. So the wall mount wasn't going to work. I made my first trip of the day to the store to go get legs for this fucking thing. EXHIBIT B Fucking legs ($45 per tower) Right! Now we're really getting into the fuck ass shit. Now that this boner sucking piece of garbage has legs, it doesn't sit flush to the wall. Nothing left to do but start cutting away baseboard. Yah trick yahhhhh. Gonna keep that piece so there isn't an obvious gap of no trim between the legs when you look under the towers. Nothing left to do but cut out that top piece of the base and this thing will sit flush against the wall. Installed the first cleat that's gonna hold the base snug to the wall. The lag bolts they provided with this closet kit were 2 1/2" long. That's way too long for that left side that's going to have to go into that pocket door stud. Off to the store. I wanted to get some 1 1/4 lag screws. They were out. Great. The guy shows me 1 1/2 inch lag screws. I think that's too long so I grab a few washers to act as a spacer for the screw so it doesn't punch through the metal and scratch up the door as it opens and closes. It all attaches to the wall no problems. Sike. I had to drill a new recessed hole into the cleat because they were pre drilled for regular stud spacing of 16" on center. Oh yeah and the clear was also too long. Not for long. I just mowed about 2 inches off the end of that trick. Like so. Boom fast forward to the top cleat, base cabinet, and top cabinet being installed. Now it's time to repeat the whole process over again for the other tower. Boom. And just like that it was midnight and that trick was sufficiently whooped. it's beautiful! 3 6

Dark_Knight
My weekend project. Think I posted this deck in here before. Wanted to put a roof on it but was too pricey, so I got a little shade sail made for $70. Wood has never been treated so had to pressure wash it, treat it and stain it. Came out pretty good. What else should I add? 2
