Now what’s happening in the background we’re bot supposed to see. Usually it’s some subtle law that strips away more rights and privacy, or some sort of third world gun deal. As far as the justice system for the rest of us goes, yes. A headline or two is all that's needed and our legislators (the ones that know what they're doing at least) will pass a law addressing the most recent news cycle. A rape accusation occurs, the public is upset, instead of just prosecuting rape, the next thing you know marijuana is a schedule 1 felony. The politically elite don't have to worry about themselves getting locked up, they're focused on the gains in their private prison stock holdings, or their massive holdings in hemp alternatives.
