mental invalid

its not capitalism that is the problem, rather it is the capitalists...i for one find it to be the best economic model to fit into the theory of democracy...i just feel that there needs to be certain protections on levels such as child labor, government corruption, and environmental impacts...that and the idea of a small handful controlling the many does not sit well with people...again the arguement that is to be made is not about capitalism, its about globalization and its unchecked rampage.....

i disagree here. it's about capitalism and it's unchecked rampage. capitalism is whatever capitalists believe it to be. if you look it up in the dictionary, i'm sure you would find an abstract definition, but one that is clearly outmoded by two hundred years of legislation on behalf of the rich.

and why do they label protesters anarchists, or socialists, i'd be there if i could afford to this weekend, me and my camera.

well, let me address that, i think cynicism means you are soured against somebody because of what you think they may do as a result of unrelated actions? well, if that's the case i am not cynical. it is a fact that world bank and imf policies kill innocents every day in the name of free market economy. that's right globalization is capitalism on a global scale. globalization, i remember when i first heard of it, it sounded so nice. i thought to myself right on america, jump on board, let's bring the world up by the bootstraps. little did i know that it was all about money. fuck that shit. and on the same token, multinational corporations, also driven by greed, are equally as guilty. i said guilty. that's a fact.

because its lazy and misconstrued journalism....im sure you would find communists, socialists, libertarians, capitalists, etc....its easier to lump them all as socialists and to discredit not only their movement by labeling them anarchists but also the theory of socialism as well...its irresponsible media....

can people please post links to articles as they see them....perhaps nothing newsworthy has happened yet, more likely things are getting swept under the rug  .....appreciate it......rOe

yes, bill in kansas is not in control of the sweatshops, but even when he finds out where his shirts are coming from he still buys them at the same place..

you know last night i heard on the news that people in my state use over 2 BILLION gallons of water per day?! and that is only my state..i have seen stats that americans use up resources faster than the majority of other countries..women here, statistically, use more toilet paper than anywhere else in the world! big business is not entirely to blame for all this (don't forget all the congressmen who want to rape the alaskan wildlife refuge to supply our people with oil)

we are a consumerist society..people are comfortable with a laissez-faire president who won't do shit..

i am not rationalizing..if i was, i would be saying that all these reasons make big business practices ok..that is not what i'm saying..simply that it is a lot more complicated than pointing at big business and blaming them as a whole, then attempting to destroy the philosophies that created them in the hopes that this will magically solve all the problems they did create

i am an american..as such, i have been taught to see that there is always more than one side to a story, more than one way to view an argument..i am not going to respond to you point by point..you seem to know what the fuck you're talking about, and i agree with a lot of what you're saying..especially the checks on big business..i am really just happy that some people are out there thinking..

i have found that most people, unless they or someone they know lost money, do not care about enron..a lot of college educated young people at my job don't even know what it is about (reminds me just a bit of iran contra..no one gave a shit, and it may have spawned many terrorist acts)..

..and you sound pretty sarcastic so don't forget..YOU chose the screen name mental invalid..what people decide to perceive from there is up to them.

www.infoshop.org/

is really good with the news there is a lot to read on what is happening what is planned to happen etc, it is a webpage put out by anarchists, so the anarchists report the anarchist perspective, which i usually find a little more truthful than the blacked out media...

there have already been arrests made in nyc,in fact before it even started, a number of anarchists were detained and questioned as to what is going to happen, the web master for raisethefist.com's house was raided for propagation of illegal information, "bombmaking" golook up how to make bombs on google andfind out that one kid could not aloneconvince the worldto make bombs or even threaten the world.

we live in a day and age where our so calledconstitutional rights are threatened severely, according to the patriot act i am a domestic terrorist for not believing every move MY government makes is right, i do not support the government, and so i dont consider my self under their laws, but alittle note to anyone... do not think thoughts that go against your government because not only are you a domestic terrorist you are a true citizen of a "democracy." and that these days is against the law.
