Brûléed Bourbon-Maple Pumpkin Pie Chocolate Crust: ¼ cup plus 1 Tbsp. Dutch-process unsweetened cocoa powder 3½ tablespoons granulated sugar 1 teaspoon kosher salt 1¼ cups plus 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting 6 tablespoons (¾ stick) chilled unsalted butter, cut into pieces 2 tablespoons chilled vegetable shortening, cut into pieces 1 large egg yolk ½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/bruleed-bourbon-maple-pumpkin-pie 22 hours ago, diggity said: Are you just dry rubbing that turkey? Super simple just a dry rub, a little brown sugar, sea salt, and thyme applied 24 hours before baking. 22 hours ago, diggity said: I did a soak bath on mine. It's in the fridge now until tomorrow morning. Every year I debate on the whole brine thing. My mom never does it. her turkey always comes out solid as fuck. I've been following the Alton Brown Turkey recipe for the last few years and its worked out pretty well. This is literally our first Thanksgiving in a minute where we didn't have either vegans, or lactose & gluten intolerant guests. Going super traditional this year just because we can. Just checked out the Alton Brown IG, def looks like he's got poultry on lock. I'd say if it ain't broke don't fix it. 22 hours ago, diggity said: Did the pumpkin pie and fresh apple sauce last night. Father-In-law and sister-in-law are about to arrive. we'll do normal dinner tonight and thanksgiving for lunch tomorrow. I dont really care too much about the thanksgiving spread. I'm more about the left over turkey sandwiches...thats my jam. Truth right here, it's all about the leftovers which is why I like hosting. diggity
Actually kinda proud of this one. It’s not much for looks but chocolate Chess Pie is one of my favorites to make as a gift. It’s simple and tastes awesome. Problem is that the tops normally crack and takes away a lot of the appeal. I don’t make them often so it’s a common problem when I do. Today I nailed it after making a couple of temperature adjustments. 1

I don't know if this is getting the props it deserves, people probably aren't reading the caption. Never had a home made cola, this would be the only soda I'd be interested in drinking ever.
