Following backlash, Nike has pulled its balaclava, a piece of headgear designed to cover the majority of the face, from its shelves. Those opposed to the selling of the item insist that the company is promoting and profiting from gang culture. Nike showcased the balaclava on a black male model, which also raised further concerns pertaining to racial stereotypes. My opinion: The age of political correctness is undoubtedly in full swing and it makes me nervous to think what the eventual result to all this will be. Like I’ve said though (and not to keep making my life complicated) but don’t want to just slap a logo on a blank, even if I can eek out a tighter embroidery).
