From the other day. A little post work time spent staring at trees and water.

So yesterday Fish & Game picked up their traps after two nights of nothing. They'd gotten a call about a bear a few miles away and thought maybe it had moved on as this particular bear has been ra

My banana plants are looking happy, coming into a hot, humid summer.    Pineapple grown from the top of a pineapple bought from the supermarket. One of the easiest fruits to grow!

How you like them maggots?  Kind of interesting, I had passed this little farm building before and thought it smelled like a combo of sewage and a brewery.  Caught a dude there the other day.  He's using compost and used brewer's yeast to grow black fly maggots, which are then fed to the chickens.  It uses people's discarded table scraps, the chickens devour the maggots, and they're a high source of protein and generally better for the chickens then conventional feed.  He's trying to expand this so that anyone can come get some if they keep chickens.

When birds fly into the window and die I'll leave them out by the trail cam to see who claims them.  Not sure what happened here, this deer seems to toss this woodpecker aside and then either eats it or rubs the scent.  Another deer came along and appeared to do the same.

Pretty gross if you really think how the food trickles uphill until you can turn it into a doodoo.

More emptying out the trail cam.  Lot of coyote activity and a fox that's been showing up here & there.  Trying to catch some pix of this bobcat that's been coming around but its creeping game is on point and it seems to intentionally work around the camera.
