TayyuNit
What do you all think about the new spotlight about graffiti and police misconduct?
One Man Banned
The story about Reefa is about a year old; the story of police brutality toward graffiti artists is as old as graffiti. The story of police brutality is as old as the police.
TayyuNit
It's true that the story of Reefa is not new and that police brutality has remained a constant. But what do you think about the general unawareness that people have about their rights as citizens @One Man Banned
One Man Banned
Am I helping you complete your final? Anyhow....Americans are complacent and accept a lot at face value. When they become upset with something such as the law, their actions can frequently be misguided at best, and at other times while they may be upset there is inaction. People choose to remain ignorant and I could probably rant about how people have allowed themselves to be dumbed down with smartphones, advertising, crap TV, etc. I figure the majority of people have little idea what's in the Bill of Rights or the Constitution, much less local laws and ordinances. I wish you would go on this rant because more people need to hear it - it's the apathy that dulls the passion for effecting change, no? It's true. US citizens are barely citizens in that they are incompetent about their own rights and the laws that were "created to protect them."
