Re: im watching this plumber go to FUCKING TOWN on my kitchen ceiling

Dude said they (him + co worker) will be back two more times til its done

Still very happy to not be a home owner

Needed all new insulation up there and they replaced a few beams.... I guess a bunch of water damage

I'm sure its not very expensive, but I'm glad I don't have to pay shit. :haha:

if your plumber is your drywaller then you may have problems with the finish.

If they are re-stippling the ceiling after they finish-coat the drywall you wont be able to tell there was work done.

I would have asked for an access to be left to whatever you have above - be it a washroom or kitchen.

That may eliminate the need to destroy the ceiling again when the next supply bursts or starts leaking.

Two different people. The drywalled and painter is the handyman for the complex and they hired a plumber from a local company

Hopefully another union on the line doesn't bust while I'm there. Not planning on renewing my lease after this year so I'm not too concerned about he long run

Yeah, that would not be a"not very expensive" problem at all.

Materials cost might be under a few hundred, but labor would drive that shit waaay up.

Even happier I'm not paying then!

Re: im watching this plumber go to FUCKING TOWN on my kitchen ceiling

same shit happened when i first moved into my place. it had been vacant for two years and apparently there was some issue with the plumbing that caused a small leak. i woke up in the middle of the night to my desk covered with half of the fucking ceiling. took a week to get fixed. was hella umad.

Re: im watching this plumber go to FUCKING TOWN on my kitchen ceiling

it's typical for copper plumbing, when disturbed to leak. Also if it hasn't been used in a long time and all of a sudden it starts getting frequent use it can cause leakage or burst.

kind of like a car which has sat, if you fire that puppy up it will feel like shit to drive.

If you start doing repairs on old shitty copper plumbing and moving things around you will start a leak or weeping from other area's of the plumbing grid.

it's why ipex is so popular now.
