Am I the only one who finds food spots to be the absolute most boring topic to talk about?

And every thread about any city always seems to turn into a food thread.

Don't you people do anything other than eat?

When traveling to other cities, where I'm gonna end up eating ranks absolutely nowhere on my agenda.

Well I was gonna ask Pat's or Geno's, but since you're apparently not really knowledgeable on the subject...

Seriously though, where do you recommend for a cheesesteak? I figure they're associated with you in a hilarious way for some grounded reason. I'm gonna be in Philly later this summer and don't want no shitty 'steak.

Throw it on the PM if you want.

You can get a cheesesteak at any corner pizza shop in Philly.

Next time you're in Philly and you decide you're hungry and want a cheesesteak: walk to the middle of any intersection, stand there and do a 360 degree turn, first pizza shop you see BAM! go there.

I didn't say any corner store, I said any corner pizza shop.

in case DAO isn't clear enough ... philly really does seem to have some greasy little pizza shop on every block. these sell:

pizza

chicken parm

cheesesteaks

hoagies

garlic bread

imagine more bastardized "italian" combinations of bread, butter, cheese, and tomato sauce, they probably have it.

BONUS ITEMS

- beer (really, PA liquor laws are ass)

- tomato pie

- DAO what did i miss ...?

Hmm...pointing me in the direction of any corner store in the entirety of Philly kinda reveals to me why you're not into talking about spots to get food in different cities ha.

I'll do it.

There's also good cheesesteaks to be found in the suburbs. I kinda think they're all the same. Spots that I routinely heard were reputable: jim's on south street, chink's in the neast.

@DAO: people ask about food places because they're interesting/indicative. to me a local restaurant can say a lot about the people and culture of the place. the area i'm in has a lot of breakfast places, meaning that young stupid boring people drink a shitload and then need something to absorb the hangover the next morning. this turns out to be completely true. see, wasn't that fun?

Also, any "breakfast places" close too fucking early for any real drinker to ever really frequent. Unless they're drinking till 10 in the morning. But if they're in the habit of drinking till 10 in the morning they'd probably have a hard time holding a job therefore wouldn't have the funds to frequent breakfast spots to begin with.
