CALIgula Posted June 1, 2012 Share Posted June 1, 2012 the college i went to was in a town that didnt allow for hookah bars...too bad..cause opening up one there would make someone rich...very liberal little town, but want to keep it a wholesome little town...so no porn, no hookah, no big box chain stores...they literally went around with petitions trying to not allow target and walmart to open up shop in town..target finally managed to open on the outskirts of town, but walmart didnt. anyways, back to hookah bars...ive been dragged to a few by homegirls (especially since its the only place to chill thats open till 3 or 4 am ...cause remember, im in cali where last call is at 1:45am and they close everything by 2am) one hookah bar in my city called cobblestone is a grimey hole in the wall down the street from a state university...ive been here a couple of times, but is mostly high school teens (which they dont card for tobacco) and douchebag college kids and middle eastern wanna be gangsters...they sell foods like chicken sammiches...burgers...fries...kabobs...etc etc...they also sell sodas, snapples, and tea....they have a shitty dj too that spins nonstop shitty hip hop on weekends and arabic music on weeknights. there is also another hookah bar in midtown that is mad bourgeois...its nicer on the inside (with those big pillows and nice decor)...they sell good food...but pricey...like a hummus appetizer is $14 with some cut up pita bread....they also have tea...first time i tried creme brule was there....classy but over priced. When you're under 21 though it can be nice to smoke hookah, play pool and ours actually played decent music and had classic movies playing. It was more of a meet up spot, buy one hookah and hangout with like 20 people. The servers there were assholes, and pushy and thats what basically made me never go back once I was 18ish.
