publicenemyno.3
I'll make my one and only post to this thread until the "2013 MLB AMERICA LOVES BATBALL THREAD" is made next year. GO BREWERS Pretty sure they'll get to the post season again, but won't go any further than the first round.

Ferris Bueller
Goddamn, I have a heart attack every time Matt Capps comes out to close a game. edit: also, 12 game hitting streak for Willingham, and two blasts for Morneau tonight. Enjoyable. Phil Hughes on the mound for the Yankees tonight; we could have another good opportunity for a win tonight for a 3-1 series. Against NYY. Never thought that would happen. Speaking of another Hughes - Luke DFA'd, but out of options so he needs to pass through waivers. I'm thinking he will be picked up by another team pretty soon. The streets of Minneapolis will flood with tears of all his female fans.

I'm thinking he will be picked up by another team pretty soon. The streets of Minneapolis will flood with tears of all his female fans. I'm feeling pretty good about the matchup tonight. Swarzak has looked pretty solid in his starts. He has a great demeanor on the mound. Always relaxed, keeps a good pace, and doesn't seem to get too shaken up in tough situations. As long as the bats show up tonight, we definitely have a good chance to take the series. As for Luke Hughes, I was kinda disappointed that it was him and not Plouffe. Plouffe has looked like trash everywhere we put him, defensively. Oh well. Get rid of em both and get Benson in RF. Clete Thomas can be our 4th OF. Dozier has been hot down in Rochester too, so it wouldn't surprise me if we see him in the next couple of months and either Casilla or Carroll gets moved to the utility spot. On the pitching front, I'm going to be disappointed if/when we send Hendriks to the minors or move Swarzak back to the pen. Both of them deserve a spot over Liriano or Blackburn. I just hope Liriano pulls his act together a little bit so we can get more than a bag of balls when we trade his ass mid season.

MrChupacabra
Another 4 run first inning. Loving it. Finally giving Swarzak a nice lead to work with, after we only gave him 1 run in his first two starts. I think that was a 30 pitch inning for Hughes too. edit: to be fair to Hughes though, we did get a freebie on an error on a routine throw to first double edit: slick play by Carroll. Sure as shit didn't see any of those last year from Nishioka and Plouffe.
MrChupacabra
Woof, giving it right back in the bottom of the first. This has been a crazy series in terms of early runs.

Ferris Bueller
Despite the series split, I can say that I'm becoming more impressed with the Twins thus far in comparison to last year's woes. Fielding up the middle is worlds better. Morneau, Mauer, Willingham, and Span are hitting. Doumit, Carroll, Valencia, and Casilla (somewhat) are starting to click. Just need Parmelee to start clicking, too. Now, about the pitching. I just think Swarzak had a bad game and had to get the Yankees stadium jitters out - fastball was looking pretty flat, though. Same goes for Marquis, but it is hard to say when he will level out, if ever. He seemed to settle down after his first inning. Pavano was solid in his game. Yet to say how Hendriks will fair. Hopefully Blackburn will be good to go. I have just about seen enough of Liriano - he needs to get traded.
Weapon X
Good to see the Twins firing on most cylinders. I can't wait until the Blue Jays play them.
