En Sabah Nur
Why you be all workin' this earl on a Caturday, nigga?! I work overnights at a residential facility for "troubled teens." I got off at 7 AM and my days off are Tuesday and Wednesday. My life sucks. Any punk rock or metal or reggae or grime or not-hip-hop? Don't give me any hipster tripe either. I have a feeling the other staff at this damned magazine will have that garbage covered. Action Bronson will probably get on there. I'll check out Statik Selektah... saw them live in like '04 or something I think. Home Brew Crew is definitely gonna get a mention of some sort, but they didn't put out a full-length so I dunno. I might include Tech N9ne's new album. It was way better than I had expected. Maybe new Wu-Tang. Maybe Bad Meets Evil despite that god awful Bruno Mars joint. Maybe Childish Gambino except that his beats are still always terrible. Maybe Tyler. Other lesser known possibilities: http://illroots.com/2011/06/03/fowl-good-vibes-mixtape/ - gonna give this FowL joint a listen later. I liked the single ( ) http://leonarddstroy.bandcamp.com/album/inner-exit - might include this even though i don't think the album is out. http://nezbeat.bandcamp.com/album/good-hair-2 "fuschia" is the shit http://sahtyre.bandcamp.com/album/the-buddha http://steddyp.bandcamp.com/album/what-happened-tomorrow but mainly for the last track http://maclethal.bandcamp.com/album/north-korean-bbq-mixtape haven't listened to much of it yet. maybe today. btw, i will not be getting on the danny brown hype, nor do i give half of two shits about watch the throne. injury
asap rocky. asap rocky is the most overrated of the year by a long shot... Pusha T put out a lot of heat this year ... "What Dreams are Made Of" was hard. 1 or 2 of jeezys new tracks were OK... a lotta filler there. Section 80 was the best of this year. MrChupacabra
I honestly don't think I have listened to anything that was released this year, otherwise I'd try to help you on the punk front. Did anything good actually come out this year, or am I just that out of the loop on everything?

It's like there's seroquel in the water this year. The Weeknd sounds like Clams Casino and Bruno Mars got high and decided to make background music for fingerbanging an oblivious 20 year old white girl passed out on xanax and Arbor Mist in a 3rd floor stairwell at 4 AM after an art school party.
