There's at least six news helicopters flying around in circles over North Oakland and Berkeley. Guess they can't decide where the action is.

Here's where it was-

This is at the UC campus...my guess is there was around 2000 people there.

Foley Park last night.

The lens I was using only goes out to about 90 degrees, this is looking North West from the center of the park.

At this point, the barricades were removed around the statue that stands in the middle of Foley

Square. I was one of the first ones up there and this is the crowd starting to bum rush in. Within

seconds the center area and even the statue itself was ocupado.

This was shot at 7:19pm There were thousands of people showing up after work, it was packed. People

were shoulder to shoulder, covering every square inch of this huge park. Even some of the streets

surrounding the parks were closed and covered with protesters. Not to mention every inch of sidewalk

for blocks and blocks in the area which held all of New Yorks Courts including the Federal courts.

There was a giant PA speaker system set up, that black square half way up on the left is one of the

speakers. Oddly enough there was a concert going on during this shot. They switched over from people

telling their stories of why they were there and what this meant to them. To local live music acts that

wanted to show their support for OWS protesters. Impromptu songs, lyrics, and speeches,

most were free-styled right in the moment, pretty cool.

Those are some great photos. Definitely my favorites so far. Not sure what Chase had to do with any military invasion but I dig the lineup of our wondrous military history. They've got LA up there but not Hurricane Katrina which shot to kill anybody who tried to leave the flood area via the Danziger Bridge (thank god OWS is all white people or they'd all be dead). Oh and lets not forget the spanish american war: america's first attempt at liberation through invasion.

I will say I wish OWS knew the difference between a bank and a brokerage.

Does Oakland have free legal aid volunteers for protesters?

I only ask because it seems like everyone there goes pretty hard.

Not to discredit anyone else's efforts and there is massive civil disobedience going on, but Oakland is consistently making the headlines.

I know here there are a ton of really top notch lawyers who support OWS in que to help protesters here in NYC.

Everyone relays the number to call and people write it on their skin in ink before getting arrested.

Once your in the jail you call it and they come right away to get you out.

Wish they had that program for other types of arrests here.

We've been using the National Lawyer's Guild...they're great but not always pro bono.

I'm about to haul a huge pile of signs downtown...I'll get a shot of my bike with them at some point.

Really hilarious, how does being in 100 degree heat to suck politicians dick feel faggots?

Alot of people would like to go back to work, but we dont want to drop bombs on innocent people for under 35 grand a year.

Anyway:

Good looks old man Shai, real proud of you guys for leading the charge not only on the west coast but overall for civil disobedience. NY must be a bitch as cold as it is and people are still going all out.

Update for my side of the country, people keep getting kciked out of various parks and they just play musical chairs with diffrent areas, now some fools are even camped out next to the mayors house which is pretty tight IMO.

There was a huge gathering in support last week and the cops came out ready for a riot as always. There was alot of bullshit but overall there was a good amount of marching and we shut a few streets down. The Po was hitting people with felonies for wearing bandanas, and one time 5 cops started attacking a girl and some dude cold cocked one before getting rodney king.

Glad to see shits still poppin off, I wish i could be more involved than I have been but i do what I can.

Hats off to all those fighting the good fight.

Anyone who is looking for more insight into actions like OWS should read "The Subversion Of Politics" by George Katsiaficas. He does a good job of breaking down the history and motivation behind autonomous movements in Europe.

What I'm happy to see (and what I've been advocating) is more action along the lines of what the Provos did in the Netherlands in the 60s...planting gardens in front of City Hall might not seem like that big of a deal to most of you, but it could be the start of something interesting if people are willing to take it to the next level. For example, I'd like to build a cinderblock wall around the police station...let them figure that one out.
